Just got the following email sent to me:
RACHEL HERE.

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW -- THEY'RE AFTER ME...

BUT, I'M STILL BREATHING.

I LISTENED TO DJ DAN. I FEEL YOUR SUPPORT. I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT IT MEANS TO ME.

YOU'RE DOING GREAT WORK WITH THE SRI LANKA VIDEO. KEEP GOING. FIND THE PIECES. PUT THEM TOGETHER AT WWW.HANSOEXPOSED.COM

BUT THAT'S NOT WHY I'M WRITING.

THE REASON I'M WRITING IS TO TELL YOU... SOMETHING'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN. PAY ATTENTION. HEAD TO WWW.APOLLOCANDY.COM

TRUST ME.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW.

I would normally think it's not legit, but the headers confirm that it is:

64.207.133.244 is the same server used for all the sites. Kind of ironic that it identifies as THF, but I'm very sure that's an oversight on their part

Not sure where they got my email (it's not like I hide it, though). Did anyone else get this? I wonder what's coming...

Edit: I'm an idiot. She got it from hansoexposed.com, duh!

Carried over from the Apollo Candy site thread...(following DharmaChick's lead...)
I haven't been around for a bit, but when I got the email this morning I checked out the site. As always, when you click on each of the items you go to that part of the story (ie, "The Beginning" "The Apollo Bar", etc.), but. I don't recall seeing some of the small graphics windows that come up: Birthday Cake, when you click on "The Beginning", the Chocolate Swirl on "Apollo Bar", and the Hot Air Balloon on "The Company". Have they been there all along? I remember the image of the Jeep and the Silhouette, but...I thought I remembered seeing the UPC code on the ones I mentioned.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it came from our HansoExposed registration.

The email addy that she sent it to for me was only entered there and at the ROT site, and I don't think that the ROT site stores them.

It doesn't cost anything to dream, does it? Anyway, excited as I am for the game, and the approaching S3 premiere, I'm a little saddened that nothing especial was done for Latin American viewers.

I understand the difficulties, so, I'm not critisizing, but it still makes me sad. For what is worth, if they wanted to plant a clue in Venezuela, I'd be more than willing to help out (I don't watch AXN -the Lost channel here- much, but I do watch owner channel Sony Entertaintement Television).

I wish we could at least get some Apollo bars, that'd be a kicker...

has anyone noticed the UK and USA distribution buttons on the site? For a weird reason, i can get to the USA distribution page, but when i click on the apollo logo from there, it goes back to homepage but with a UK distribution link

when i click that it just says "loading" forever.

edit> sorry, uk section works now!

hmm, says this:

Back in 1964, when that very first, sinfully scrumptious Apollo Bar planted a 10,000-watt smile on J. Pickersweet's face, could M. David Benson have possibly imagined his brilliant confection would one day be available worldwide?

The Apollo Candy Company is proud to announce the Apollo Bar, the world's most delectable chocolate sensation, is now available, for the first time ever, in the UK!!!

How can I get one, you ask?

It's easy! We're giving them away! While supplies last, simply go to your nearest Forbidden Planet store (from Thurs 24th August) and say the daily code. Trust us! Your tummy will thank you.

Thursday's code is "Alvar Hanso".
Good eating, UK!!

I was about to get really excited, because I could have sworn there was a Forbidden Planet in Manchester (where I work). But noooo.

The closest to me is Liverpool, a whole 1.5 hours away!

Earliest I could make it is Saturday, and I don't think I can be bothered travelling on a three hour round trip for a chocolate bar, albeit a very special one! :P

Nah, 30,000 addresses is nothing. Spam lists regularly contain hundreds of millions of addresses, to be processed by automated spamming software. It may, though, be enough to trigger server-side spam-blocking software, some of which checks how many addresses the same email is being sent to.

Have you tried anagramming XXXOOO?

It anagrams to "OX! OX! OX!" Sorry, QtheC, aparently she secretly doesn't think as much of you as she says aloud.

Lucky you Quince. You really seem to have made an impression. I just got the standard email myself. Kind of freaked me out till I stopped and really read the sender address. Got a good laugh out of it.

here's a theory, what if you go to forbidden planet, say the secret word, and you get a chocolate bar.

but the twist being, imprinted on that bar is another glyph or code?

same goes for america, but with one happening today, we should hear something by tonight.

I'm guessing we're going to be proven right with our theory that the bars say "whereisalvar.com" which is about to go live. If that theory's right, the site should go live in the next 4 hours.
