A possibility yes indeed... but I shouldn't be surprised if we have a break in broadcasts here. But; if we then used the pause in the American transmissions to play catch-up...

don't think Channel 4 will do that coz they like to show there big shows last. even tho lost isn't doing that well in the viewing figures its still one of there top shows but if we do get season 3 the same time as the us then we will have a 12 week break which is to long to wait for a new episode when were used to watching it in one go

the US take breaks between some episodes cause they have something like a 32 week block when there's only 24 or so episodes, so more than likely no, we wont get it.

I reckon season 3 will start in Jan/Feb next year.

Well it would be wonderful if we start 6 weeks before they air the second half of the season so we will be exactly in time with US! Or i don't mind if we are a week or two behind but a month or more is not good. If this happened when will this be? Do anyone know when the second half of the season air in the US?

To be honest, I expect it to be more March-ish than Jan/Feb. But I'll take it soon as. Although not too soon, because we'd have to deal with the Christmas-gap after the mini series.

i don't realy mind about the gap as long as we get season 3 as soon as we can

OK i've been researching trying to find out when US start after there 6 weeks episodes. And found out they start on the 7 February. So if we have Lost on a wednesday we could have it on the 27th of December (a nice belated christmas present from C4) or if we carry on having it on tuesdays then we could have it on the 2nd of January so we are under a week behind the US but it will be a problem for E4 as they can't show the next eppy because it haven't aired in the US unless we show it later by a week then the E4 people will be in time with the US. Hope you guys understand what i mean!lol!

as far as i know RTE (ireland) are contracted to be first to air s3 ahead of anyone else in europe, and thats jan they air it,

You weren't actually expecting to get an air date so early were you?

I mean Channel 4 were still denying the airdate for Season 2 even after it had been leaked by Digital Spy, until they were ready to do so.

They should show it catching up with the us in their break from the show, and so we only have to wait until the season airs with no breaks between episodes.
But don't forget they're also gonna be showing Desperate Housewives season 3, and i seriously doubt they're gonna show Lost & DH at the same time (like Lost on tuesdays &DH on wednesdays)

viewing figures might improve if it was shown at the same time. might encourage more to watch on TV instead of just downloading. i thought i'd watch season 2 on TV, just to see it on a bigger screen but i just havent bothered bar a handfull of episodes.

If Channel 4 had some brains - they'd put series 3 straigh after the current series, as to be up to date with the states.

If they leave a big gap - they will lose more viewers, as people who are not as addicted to LOST as most of us are, will just forget about it.

Although one rumour I have heard is that because of the new US scheduling next season (episodes airing each week without breaks from February), we could be getting it over here on a much shorter delay than you might expect. The above quote taken from the guy at Digital Spy does say 'we could be getting it over here on a much shorter delay than you might expect' not that there wont be a delay. Plus that guy isn't even affiliated to Channel 4 so it's all guesswork based on something he has heard. Not concrete evidence.

We're looking at a late May early June start next year, I'm not sure if we will have a gap between the six-part miniseries and the main bulk of the show or not...

Yeah, I think January is very optimistic. After all, we had a five month wait between seasons one (finished in the first week of January 12th if I recall?) and season two (May 2nd).

So...five months from September 26th is late February. However, I think it will be a longer wait this time around since there'll be fewer episodes shown by January. C4 won't bother with a gap after the mini-series, there'd be riots.

I had a terrible dream where we had to wait two years!!!.
Anyway I've been thinking about it and technically series 2 should have been starting round about now if it hadn't been pushed forward. So channel4 could wait till this time next year for series 3! I think this is highly unlikely but you never know. Then there would be riots.

I waited for season two, but I was no way near as addicted to Lost then as i am now. I'm going to watch it straight from America this time - only 18/19 days left!!!
