View Full Version : Who Is Your Favorite Character Desmond Interacted With..........??

Desmondslass

This is a hard one for us because Desmond's character was written so beautifully that he just interacted with everyone in the cast incredibly. So who will it be?

Penny
Libby
Jack
Locke
Widmore
Inman
Kate
Claire
Anyone else?

Locke most especially..."Hello yourself, Boxman"...doesn't get any better than that!
Widmore..."You're a b*stard"
Kelvin...luv 'em roomates - and Clancy rules!
Jack...but of course
Penny...because of the pain in his eyes
Libby...because I love Cynthia

Fun thread, lass!

I love him and Locke! The whole "boxman" thing is adorable.

Jack and Desmond are also quite fun to watch.

And of course, Kelvin and Des!! Namaste and good luck.

As far as who I'd like to see Desmond interact with, well:

Sawyer, cause I would overheat at them just standing next to one another./

Henry Gale, because for some reason I think they would have very interesting conversations.

Him and Locke together is great. The boxman thing kinda makes me chuckle. I think him and Danielle would have a pretty cool interaction.

Not fair to include Penny on the list, Desmondslass! Of COURSE, he's gonna interact best with HER! :D

You know where I stand--J A C K !

Locke is also excellent.

Looking forward to interaction with James, natch!

And it'd be VERY interesting for him to meet up with Fenry!

Folks, I'm posting it here, too, in case you don't check out the Can You Imagine Desmond thread--

The second group of LOST figures is/are up for pre-order! And

DESMOND

is one of them! :kicking:

The second group of characters will be shipped out next May, but you can order now. This time around, we have:

Desmond, James, Sayid, Eko, Jin and Sun!!

Here's the link:

www.clarktoys.com/lose2mcpr.html (http://www.clarktoys.com/lose2mcpr.html)

No pix of any of the figures yet--but they'll all interact well with Desmond, yeah? :wink1:

Great thread, and difficult choice, Desmond is such a social creature, he interacts well with anybody.

-Penny, for obvious reasons
-Jack, also
-Locke, they might have many things to share in the future as well
-Claire, there might be a twist to that in the future
-Widmore, cuz the collected, focused way of treating him was so great (also, the "b..d" line lol)

Looking forward to interaction with Sawyer (I expect fireworks!) and Fenry (wonder how his mindgames will work with Des?)

Jack--he makes a perfect foil for him.
Penny--the love of his life.
Locke--called him, "Boxman."
Widmore--called him a B____________d.
Claire--very caring toward her.
Sayid--I suggest you find someone who does.

Well, Desmond is everybody's bud. I am looking forward to more interactions with the Losties.

Now that I've re-watched the scenes with him and Kelvin, I love Desmond in those scenes. He's politely asking all these questions and Kelvin is barely civil back to him. But Desmond just keeps being polite; he has questions he needs answered, so he asks them. It's not so much these two characters are interacting exactly, but it's more like Desmond asking questions and Kelvin growling back. Anyway, I love watching Desmond in those scenes.

I loved him with these three:

Jack...because they are so different and just played well off of each other
Claire...I think they had tons of romantic potential...lots of chemistry!
Libby...also tons of chemistry

My favorite character he interacted with is Locke because they were in agreement in the beginning regarding pushing the button and then at odds. Then in the end Desmond was trying to encourage Locke. They spent more time together than any others I think and there was a lot more variety to their interaction.
I liked the little blooper with Desmond and Locke too on the dvd when Desmond fires the warning shot.

I don't. Desmond's a very amicable fellow, and always trying to be encouraging and reasonable. I think he'll recognize James' little techniques to keep people at arms' length
. . .and promptly NOT take the bait! He'll quickly see that he can't get James to "lift it up" any more than he could with Jack! :D

What I think he WILL take note of is that when people talk to him with respect, value his opinion, listen to what he has to say, and (on a lighter note) just banter around with him, he is a far more pleasant guy to be around. When he sees that you don't have an angle when dealing with him (or, conversely, can win in a friendly battle of wits!), he'll deal straight with you.

Jack's relationship to James is at its best (meaning, the two can find common ground) when Jack approaches James the ways explained above. With Desmond, that ability to get along comes far more naturally. Des is who he is. James will see that (and that he's no super-moralistic pain in the keester, like a certain doctor he knows), and react respectfully/accordingly. THEIR friendship will come easy!

I can picture one such exchange:

JAMES: So when are you gonna give us that bagpipe recital, Braveheart?

DESMOND: When y'all do me the honor of a duet, with your banjo, brutha!

James ain't got a chance against Desmond!

:wavey:, LIM! Always good to hear from you!

I still suspect that Fenry's a Widmore, and that Desmond's crossed paths with him before--maybe when Penny brought him to a family function, or something. If so, Desmond and Fenry meeting on the Island would prove quite interesting. . . .

It would be an equally interesting meeting if Henry was really Radzinsky. (my personal theory about him).

With Jack gone and Des the new doc (spoiler-fonted like YOU should have done with this sentence, hint, hint!)

I think you answered your own question, Lea!

Desmond will stay close to where his patients are--especially with the EMT aftereffects added to all the other ailments lostaways will have!

Personally, if Locke goes off into the jungle again
on a quest or mission,
his likeliest companion would be, IMHO, either Eko or Sayid, who will have their OWN reasons for wanting to go hither and yon on the Island. It'd be interesting to see how Locke handles a partner who's an equal, and not a sidekick!

As for Desmond,

With Jack gone and Des the new doc
With The 'Lage's definition of a spoiler being anything that hasn't aired yet,
they'd consider the well-established knowledge of Jack staying with The Others and Desmond being alive as Still Spoilers. Silly, I know--but it's THEIR definition, and we must respect their perimeters when posting here!
Only two more weeks before a goodly percentage of spoiler fonting can be given the boot! Hang in there!

When Jack finally breaks down and weeps, letting Desmond hold him and assure him that it's OK to let it all out--THAT'S the moment I'M waiting for. THAT'S the birth of the friendship. I gotta go with Locke. I like the whole idea of you saved my life now I'ma gunna save yours, brotha. Saying Jack just doesn't give Desmond enough credit for me...sure he made him cry, but everybody makes little Foxy cry. Plus outisde of Penny's dad, (and arguably Inman) Jack has been the meanest to Desmond out of everyone else, which is just wrong.

Of course, along the lines of a Sawyer Deliverance scene...a rehashed joke from Charlie would be nice, something like:

Dez: Do you know what one snowman said to the other?

Chuck: No, but if you hum a few bars I might be able to figure it out...

Especially since I think that was Dom's joke in the first place. (the snowman joke, not the hum a few bars joke)

Locke has been severly humbled and owes more than his life to Des ... he owes his new-found inner strength, which I think he'll have in S3. I also bet Des and Eko will become pals. That'll be cool!

Okay, so go to phase 1, on the Fire+Water Anatomy of an Episode link....

You want to put the cursor DOT on the Anatomy line, not the Fire+Water line. I think it's like an easter egg or something. Anyway, you might have to go one line down and then hit left on your remote. On your computer you should be able to just get the pointer in that spot.

Not sure if he's my favorite character, but I'm liking the scene with Daddy Widmore now just because Dez shows that rebellious side a bit, calling him a b______d and not taking his payoff money. The whole idea carries over to the Libby scene too, but just another lovleh insight into the personality.

I'd have loved the "interaction" between Des and Charles W. even MORE if Des had actually WON the race, and Charles had been forced to publicly present him with the winning trophy!

Hehe, don't count Dez out. Maybe there is some weird time warp stuff happening like folks have suggested, and he'll win it yet. However unlikely that may be, I think we will need to see Daddy eating some crow at some point as you suggest.

Daddy Widmore needs to eat crow and humble pie:pie:, needs to be given the raspberry :raspbry: by Des , Des needs to talk turkey :turkey: with Daddy Widmore, so the soup  is on Widmore.

Jack- they have history. And Desmond made him laugh! In S2! In the finale!. ('Yeah we're still pushing it'). So you know thats gonna be a good friendship.

Locke- Although for one reason and one reason only- 'box-man'. BEST NICKNAME EVER!

I'm just glad that they've got a cool Scottish character!, England is represented by Charlie. Now they need a cool Irish or Welsh character. (Jack spoilt everything 'i'm not Irish') Why the hell not?

[quote=jbdean;1179159]Hate to spoil it for you but you don't really get to see Desmond in that blooper. A split, split second and he's gone behind the wall. It's really Terry's blooper. BUT the behind the scenes of Des and Libby in the coffee shop and the filming of the storm at sea are fab and you see him in those. He's so cute applauding with everyone after Cynthia's good-bye speech.

Where please on the DVD's can I find the behind the scenes of Des and Libby in the coffee shop and filming of the storm at sea?
