A lot of people I know think this is a major plot hole in the premise of the current story arc, but I have faith that y'all have a reasonable explanation for setting things up this way, so I'll ask it here...
Why do the survivors feel that they have to live EITHER on the beach or in the caves? Why haven't they all moved to the caves and then set up beach patrols, say, rotating groups of 4 or something like that, instead of half the people sitting around waiting for the rescue party all day, every day?
I get that they're not all thinking very rationally yet, and that some of the characters (e.g., Claire) just like the beach better, but it just doesn't seem very efficient, logical, or plausible that not one of the characters has even suggested it, and instead they all just accept that this inconvenient dichotomy is inevitable.
A related question, just me being nosy: Which location is cheaper and/or easier on which to film - the beach, or the caves soundstage?
Thanks in advance, y'all. =)
