Not sure what the significance if this is, but it was interesting that once again Locke had a vision of Boone and this time Locke was "falling up the stairs" on the escalator.

whoa, great call, lostnerd... i completely forgot about that parallel... especially meaningful since it's coming from Boone... i mean, it's an escalator, but it would've taken a lot of show time to show Locke trying to climb those stairs lol

I'm not sure I understand the meaning here. Did I miss something in previous episodes where this statement is important??

that dream state in season 1 where Locke envisioned Boone with a bloody face saying "Theresa falls up the stairs, theresa falls down the stairs"... correct me if i'm wrong, i thought it was Locke who saw that...

It was an allusion to the cliff Boone climbed to reach the plane. But didn't Locke drag himself up the escalator? And the steps weren't moving.

nope. He rode it up ...He had to drag himself off the top step...and that's when he found the Jesus Stick...

I took the symbolism of the escalator to mean more of Locke's distance to Boone and the journey he would have to make to get to Eko.

He sees the escalators - then sees Boone on top. The relationship is exactly the same as the day Boone died. Remember, Locke had Boone climb into the plane because he couldn't - he was paralyzed. Therefore, we again see Locke on the ground, and Boone up high. This time though, Locke is able to get to Boone and when he does he discovers it is Eko who needs saving and Locke has to make that journey.

One thing I noticed tonight in Locke's hallucination. When he's in the airport he is taken around by Boone in the wheelchair. Then Boone appears at the top of the escalator. Locke has to climb up the escalator. At the top of the escalator he finds Eko's stick... and Boone all beaten up and bloody. Does anyone think the escalator is significant? A symbol of Locke's struggle? Or of Locke (or Boone) reaching some higher plain (plane?)?

Locke goes up he escalator, Locke goes down the escalator... while hallucinating Boone. Just like Boone's comment about his nanny!

I pointed this out in the preview thread for this episode, glad to see somebody else thought it might be related too!

I noticed parallels between this dream episode and the Mr. Ecko dream where he saw his brother and then had to climb to the top of a cliff to get a message from him...or did Locke climb the cliff in Ecko's dream? Anyhooo. Two dreams, one where Ecko is told to save Locke, then another where Locke is told to save Ecko, both ending with climbing to the top of a high place. Also the wheelchair figured in both dreams. Mr. Ecko's brother was sitting in it at the top of the cliff.

That's exactly what I said to myself when I saw it!!!!
