So we heard on Jack's com box that someone is doing something to Karl- who do you think He is? Is Benry pulling double duty messing with the Losties heads AND torturing Karl?

I couldnt make out hardly anything over that intercom. I am hoping someone will post something about what exactly what was said.

Here's what I heard....could only make out bits and pieces:

_____(Name, sounded like Jack), do you know what your doing?........It was a mistake brining you two here.

That's all I can make out.

I watched that scene with captions and it was something along the lines of "Have you seen what he's doing to Karl? It was a mistake bringing those two here"

Okay thanks, so who is this he, what are they doing to karl, and who were the two people brought in to work on him? Or was that about kate and sawyer? Also does this mean karl isnt an other and is being trained to be one? What part does he play with alex too? Seems really confusing.

For what it's worth...I'd be leary of what the CC says...so far on another board I've seen two posters post very different CC transcripts for the scene where they bring Colleen past Sawyer and Kate...one says "This is your bed, Juliette" and the other says "She's hurt bad, Juliette". So CC could be wrong.

I think the CC is wrong and that the name said was "Cole" not "Karl." According to Juliet, Cole is Colleen's nickname.

What I heard from my TV was:
(static) "...under control."
"Yeah, you know what he's doing to Colleen (Karl)?"
"He knows what he's doing."
"It was a mistake bringing those two here."

Yeah I just listened to it and I'm waiting to hear from rvt before posting anything, but I will say that the CC is inaccurate.

If the last sentence proves to be correct. I first thought they were talking about Kate and Sawyer because all they're really after is Jack. But now I'm think the two are Karl and Alex.

While I believe the whispers are usually red herrings, I am interested to know more about what is coming out of Jack's comm box. I mean, the first one had to be some kind of hallucination, perhaps brought on by the island, because it was an exact repeat of "let it go, Jack" that we heard from Christian in the flashback. But some of the other stuff seems more likely that it's coming directly from what's happening in the present. So what's the deal?

About Karl though, I'm surprised we haven't seen any more of him yet. I do believe it will take the full length of the season to understand what's up with the different factions of Others.

Okay we've posted the transcript for this scene in the whispers thread (post #503). It's pretty similar to what most of you have heard except the name said seems to be Colleen, not Karl. In the actual broadcast, it's hard to hear the name because there is a smacking sound that overlaps the name so all you can hear is the hard 'C' sound, but when you take away the smacking noise, it sounds like Cole or Colleen. Also, there is one hidden voice is this scene. The transcript and audio are here:

I must agree. Even though the captions may have said "Karl", it sounded like "Colleen" when I listened to my TV.
