In the episode "the cost of Living", Eko gets a vision of his brother telling him to confess. when Eko awake, he goes along to the site of his dead brother plane crash, in search of his brother, in order to make a confession.

When Eko came upon , what he believe to be his brother, he start talking and makeing a cofession, until Yemi said, You talk to me, as if I was your brother", and than he walked away from Eko. A hurt an confuse Eko, follow after him. Now most people assume ( Myself included.) that It was the smoke monster, diguise as Eko's brother Yemi. ...but if you watch the episode again, you will notice that while Eko is continueing to follow Yemi, the smoke monster is sneaking up behind him. So Yemi is in front, while smokie is in back of Eko. , so I do not think they are the same. If Yemi was the smoke monster, than why did he leave Eko, instead of killing him right than? why mention that he wasn't his brother?

Did Sayid and Locke see the black smoke killing Eko?, because I do not think they did.

When Eko first went in search of his brother at the pearl station/plane crash site. The black smoke was about to sneak up on him, but Locke and company arrive, and it seem have scare him off. Most people believe that Locke present might have scare off the black smoke..but it could have been reacting to anyone inside the group. What do you believe might have scare of the black smoke the first time, when Eko first reach the site of his brother's plane crash, in episode 3.05?

I also notice that Eko followed yemi..so if Eko didn't follow Yemi, would he not have been killed ? it seem like everytime someone follow a vision of someone who suppose to be dead, or not around they would up dead. Shannon follow Walt, and she wound up dead, Jack follow his father and he was nearly killed.

comments?, views? , and opionions?

First I want to say great catch on the fact that Smokey came from behind Eko when he was following Yemi ! ITA that there are two entities involved. To me, the one (Yemi) is there to lure Eko and the other entity (Smokey) is there to harm him. One is the "brains" and the other the "brawn".

Smokey and Yemi could be two entities, but they seem to work in concert. We really don't know the nature of Smokey, so it's entirely possible that Smokey and Yemi are one and the same.

Those are some good observations.. I never thought smoky wasYemi personally, but not a vision exactly either (in the same way I think both Sayid and Shannon were able to see Walt). I don't understand it all and don't feel I have to know. There's more of a creepy value to not knowing. I don't think Yemi was a vision and like ghost Walt led Shannon to her death, I saw a similar motive here.

Great observations!

I notice that throughout Lost, there has been lots of reference to good, and evil, black and white, light and dark.

Locke talk about light and dark in the pilot episode of Lost.

From the Pilot episode:
2 players. 2 sides. One is light, One is dark. Walt, do you want to know a secret?

Danielle made a reference to "dark territory" being close to the Black rock in Exodus.

From Exodus:
Danielle- The Dynamite, by the Black Rock, in the dark territory.

and Goodwin made reference to Good and Evil in The other 48 days.

From the other 48 days:
Goodwin: Nathan was not a good person. That's why he wasn't on the list.

Since there has been a lot of reference to good and evil, dark and Light, I think it possible that a good entity took Yemi's form. Yemi was actually the good entity, trying to get Eko to confess his sins, so that he can save him. Once Eko refuse, he left Eko to the smoke monster. Did you notice the place in which Yemi asked for Eko confession, was a beautiful place, where all the plants are laid out in tows, someone had to do that, and since they aren't overgrown and out of control, someone is still taking care of those plants. That area was created for a reason. Yet, Eko wasn't killed there, but some place else.
