So, the name of the Other that Alex was aiming her slingshot at escapes me, but what I found interesting when I rewound and rewatched that scene during the commercial was how good this guy was at discreet communication. He motioned with his left hand (right hand as we saw it) for the other Other to grab Alex the way he did and essentially disarm her. It was so subtle that I didn't see it the first time and obviously was something that she was not used to seeing happen and didn't pick up on... I'm impressed with the communication that he did and with the other Other having the wherewithal to comprehend and act on it.

Aside from that, what are everyone's thoughts on the fact that they seem to not want Alex around and have to fight to keep her out...?

I agree with you that they do not want Alex around and yet she keeps popping up on a "seperate" island. Where is she coming from? Is she really just hanging out on the smaller island or is she somehow going between the two and I just can't see them giving her the sub OR the boat.
