Why doesn't anyone ask Desmond what will happen next? Charlie and Claire know he can see things that will happen in the future as does Desmond himself yet no one seems to ask the obvious questions like how far into the future can you see? Are they insignificant things or can you see major events like Jack, Sawyer or Kate returning?

Here is a guy with something they could use to their advantage yet everyone is so blase about it. Instead of Locke looking for a sign on what to do next, he should just ask Desmond.

Charlie and Claire aren't exactly sure that Desmond can see the future. Desmond obviously knows that he can see into the future, but is a little shaken up by whatever caused him to be clairvoyant. It seems that Desmond is gonna address his current state seen in the preview for next year's half season.

In further thought, after all the heebie-jeebie stuff that has happened on the island, I am not sure if Charlie and Claire are all that aware of what is happening with Desmond. They know he was able to predict that particular event - but as far as they know, its nothing short of what a true sailor could predict through basic meteorology and knowing the seasons etc [as Artst] did being a science teacher. *Shrug* I'm not saying it is believeable that Charlie and Claire would write Desmond's actions as typical, because obviously a bolt coming down near where Desmond told Claire to move up the beach from...wouldn't be typical. The odds are against it. So, I'm thinking right now they may be in a bit of indifference as to what to think about Desmond. I think that by the second part of season three - we'll know what happened to make Des the way he is. I'm sure it will become more apparent and other characters will begin to interrogate.

Desmond has NO CONTROL over what he "sees." Thus, you can't just come to him and ask him for a specific prediction. IMHO.

Q: Did Desmond have some sort of latant psychic ability before the hatch was destroyed? Remember his words to Jack when they met in the stadium. It seemed at the time that he knew that Sarah's surgery had been successful. And what was that stuff about miracles? And "See ya' in another life, yeah?"

Also, perhaps he'll be drawn to Charlie's girl because he's Clairevoyant....

Maybe Mystic Des can't choose when to see.

Did anyone else think it was odd that he didn't predict Eko's death?
