Huskie 11-12-2006, 01:01 PM How DARE you add an ounce of chitchat to your indepth discussion in Eh, could have been better Didn't Love it? topics.
So here you go.
I'll start then:
I liked Season 1 the best.
Season 2 seemed to go downhill, IMO of course.
Season 3 jumped the bunny, or whatever the latest term is nowadays, IMO of course.
Heroes looks promising but I only saw the last episode, 7th I believe. Just have to catch up on what the heck is happening when I missed the first 6.
House is back but seems ... different ... somehow but it's still good, IMO of course.
The weather here is warmer than usual and today it wants to rain. Glad I took off work Thursday and Friday.
Got more SPAM today but this is not unusual. Email is a good tool, besides the spam.
elfdream 11-12-2006, 03:00 PM Well this is a pretty good idea but you might want to edit that first line. :wink!:
Jomama 11-12-2006, 03:15 PM Just thought you'd want to know that they are having a marathon of the first 6 episodes of Heroes November 29 on Sci Fi. It's my new favorite show also. Hope it lasts longer than Lost did.:frown:

Thanks for the heads up. Everyone has been raving about that show and I never got around to watching...and I thought I had put it off to the point where I couldn't catch up.
I'm thinking about renting the first season of BSG and giving that one more try.
Its cold here and our heat is OUT!
We're going to go see Pirates of the Caribbean at the 2$ theater this afternoon. Hope the theater is warm. :D

You're welcome!! BSG is good also, just very dark. Heroes is gruesome but has a lighter side too. The characters are wonderful just like Lost in season 1. Hope you warm up soon. It's perfect weather here in disaster zone. Thank God for small favors.;)

I have seen all of the Heroes episodes, but it's good to know I can watch it on Sci-fi, with 24 coming back in january. Heroes is my new Lost.
Huskie this thread sounds great since we can all chit-chat about anything.
I agree season 1 Lost was pretty good.
Season 2 started out fine until I would say about the third episode.
Season 3 seems to have shaken the bunny or jumped the bunny. ;)
gusthepolarbear 11-12-2006, 05:16 PM We have some good heroes discussion and a watching live thread for heroes over on Flicks and Shows, stop by everyone.
bryce110 11-12-2006, 05:31 PM I'm not crazy about the much hyped David Morse character/storyline on House. The show is great, but this guy I do not need.
gusthepolarbear 11-12-2006, 05:46 PM i did like when that other guy was the chairman of the hospital board and did not like house that made for some interesting episodes, I did not know morse would be a repeating character, eh.
Petragrrl 11-12-2006, 06:51 PM I've never posted in the Eh thread, but I've lurked and followed your discussions. I hate to say it but I agree with the downward trend of LOST... :(. Still hoping for sunshine after rain, though.
The WTF moment for me was "Stealing the Kidney" (a.k.a. Shaking the Bunny) which came rather early and which I found absolutely ludicrous. Just like Locke's flashback hair.
However, as I posted elsewhere, I have a really high tolerance for nonsense in TV story lines... not ready to give up quite yet. There's bigger BS out there with higher Nielsen ratings.
I don't watch "House" so I can't contribute to that discussion. I have a friend though whose name is Dr. House... for real.
I have a truckload of laundry waiting for me... but it's my least favorite chore so it'll have to wait a little longer.
I can't get higher than 2255 points playing Mahjong and I absolutely hate that.
bryce110 11-12-2006, 07:02 PM Honestly my "shook the bunny" moment was killing Shannon. I still believe that she could have told a great story. And I became fed up with people calling her out for being a useless :censored: when she was one of the most realistic characters on the show. Seriously, if I was on the island, I might not want to rush into the jungle of doom either.
Of course I'm still watching, but I have been enjoying Lost only a fraction as much as I did during the first season.
elfdream 11-12-2006, 07:42 PM I have watched House sporadically and thought it funny..and imformative. I haven't watched it on a regular basis though.
gusthepolarbear 11-12-2006, 08:35 PM honestly, Lost isn't quite the lord of the flies epic i set out to watch in the beginning but im sticking in it for the long haul, what does give me hope is this wonderful community of people here at the lage. This complete extra dimension of television is inspiring ... and time consuming
Huskie 11-13-2006, 10:09 AM Well this is a pretty good idea but you might want to edit that first line. :wink!:
Fixed ;)
Just thought you'd want to know that they are having a marathon of the first 6 episodes of Heroes November 29 on Sci Fi. It's my new favorite show also. Hope it lasts longer than Lost did.
Thanks for that info Jomama. I'll set my DVR for this.

I agree Shannon and Boone had a lot of story left to tell.
I don't think tptb will ever get over the "shook the bunny," moment.
Huskie 11-13-2006, 03:23 PM *Note from Huskie: that post was deleted
Wow. Way to draw attention to my thread! - LOL
That was not the reason for starting this thread. I did it so we could add our chitchat here. Putting your questions / concerns in this topic will probably just get it locked. :)
I have no answer as to where to put it, either via a topic or PM. Hard to tell now.
ETA: This post was edited because my reply was to a post that was deleted. The rest of the content explains why this topic was created again.
recursive prophet 11-13-2006, 03:38 PM sorry bout that Huskie-soon as I read your reply I went to edit out most of what I said, and got an invalid thread message. Went back and saw it had been deleted-very ironic given what it said-took less than 5 minutes. I won't post here again-so sorry-RP

You can still post here all you want. just don't paint a bullseye on the next one ;)
AZJeepDude 11-13-2006, 03:54 PM I absolutely love BSG. That show is simply awesome. Considering the special effects, I wonder what the budget for that show is compared to Lost...
Heroes is my new Lost. At least it doesn't require me to put on a Dumb Hat so that I'm able to stomach watching it.
Smidge 11-13-2006, 03:56 PM I have watched House sporadically and thought it funny..and imformative. I haven't watched it on a regular basis though.
Hi Elfdream, fancy meeting you here! I ended up with three!
Anyway, I love House. It's on really late where I live so I always have to DVR it.

I think it's too late for me to start watching BSG. There would be too much to catch up on.
Heroes is on tonight and I hope I can understand what is going on after just seeing the last episode. I have some idea but I'll have to wait for that marathon to fully get it.
Their official forum looks interesting.

Are we comparing battle wounds? :)
House: The clinic scenes are my favorite.

Absolutely NOT true. I caught up via NetFlix. The first two seasons are out on DVD. I wrapped up S2 on DVD as I taped the first few eppies of S3. I'm now just a couple of weeks behind.

That's one way of putting it! LOL!
Oh, the clinic scenes crack me up. Remember the cow guy? I was laughing so hard I was crying at that one!
Southern Belle 11-13-2006, 06:37 PM I don't watch House, but do enjoy the commercials for it. After hearing so many good things...I'm going to have to check it out.
Hero's, I did watch the first two shows...but then lost interest, there really must be something there I missed for so many of you to like it so much, I will also give this one a try.
Has anyone watched Jericho? It's been interesting and fresh...nothing else like it out there right now...I don't know if it will last, probably not, but it has been interesting.
OH...it's hot and humid here...and I have two baskets of laundry waiting for me when I get home.
elfdream 11-13-2006, 07:52 PM I watch Jericho. Its ok. Its more of something I watched to kill time while waiting for LOST. I'm not all that invested in it.
I would like to know who or what Hawkins is though!

I'll see if I can find the first 2 seasons then. Heard this show was good from several people.
That's one way of putting it! LOL!
Oh, the clinic scenes crack me up. Remember the cow guy? I was laughing so hard I was crying at that one!
LOL. Monty Python comes to mind - "That merely a flesh wound" as his lifeless arm lays on the ground.
Cow guy - LOL
And the orange guy. "Your wife is having an affair ... You're orange!"
I don't watch House, but do enjoy the commercials for it. After hearing so many good things...I'm going to have to check it out.

Hi SB aka :) Great to see you.
Try one episode of House. It don't need to be so commited as you would need to be with Lost. Episodes are answered in one show with other arcs going on inbetween shows but you can still enjoy the show.
I watch Jericho. Its ok. Its more of something I watched to kill time while waiting for LOST. I'm not all that invested in it.
I would like to know who or what Hawkins is though!
Fine. Elfdream is mentioning Jericho now. Now I have to find out who Hawkins is! ;)
Now if Dom went to Jericho, would you be more invested?
Jomama 11-14-2006, 12:57 PM As long as we are talking about which shows we like, my favorites are Heroes, Prison Break, BSG, and NCIS. I don't like procedurals but NCIS is all about the characters and they're great. It beat Lost in the ratings last week. Happy birthday to me!!!:holiday:

I watch Jericho too. As to who Hawkins is I don't know. I think he is a cross between NSC, CIA and Homeland Security.
Happy Birthday Jomama.
Huskie 11-14-2006, 01:21 PM :hapybday: Jomama!
AZJeepDude 11-14-2006, 01:29 PM Happy b-day, Jomama!
Back to BSG...Huskie, if you do rent it, S1 is a standard set, but S2 was released as 2.0 and 2.5 (first and second half of the season, respectively). Confused the hell out of me.
Smidge 11-14-2006, 02:00 PM I watch Jericho too. As to who Hawkins is I don't know. I think he is a cross between NSC, CIA and Homeland Security.

I like Jericho. And Hawkins is one weird dude. I don't know what to make of him yet.
elfdream 11-14-2006, 02:09 PM Fine. Elfdream is mentioning Jericho now. Now I have to find out who Hawkins is! ;)
Now if Dom went to Jericho, would you be more invested?
Dom would make me interested. If Matthew went to Jericho...I'd move there. What's a little nuclear fallout to a true fan? :wink1:
I've only watched one epside of Prison Break. I can't seem to remember when its on!
I'm going to start watching this series about Mt. Everest that's going to be on one of the Discovery Channels...it starts this evening. I'm a bit of a high altitude geek.
Jomama 11-14-2006, 02:41 PM Happy b-day, Jomama!

I saw that yesterday while at Best Buy and was baffled. Was gonna look it up on Amazon to see what that was all about. Wonder why they did that?
Thanks guys!!! I'm having a good day. It's raining and my hubby and I are watching TV all day and stuffing ourselves on mexican food.
elfdream 11-14-2006, 02:47 PM Happy birthday.
Splitting the season DVD's sounds like something they do in the UK. Wonder why?
Right now I'm watching the West Wing Season 7 on DVD. That is a show that 'lost' its way when the orginal creators left and had one down season..but fortunately they found a writer who was able to bring the series back up to speed. It gives one hope. :wink1:

elfdream 11-15-2006, 01:43 PM I watched the Mt. Everest thing on the Discovery Channel last night. I thought it was just going to follow a group of climbers up the mountain. Turns out there is a guy with asthma, a guy with no legs who is hoofing up there on two artificial ones and a guy who had been in a motorcyle accident and is full of metal pins and steel rods. Its almost like 'the amazing race'. :D
Before they even got started a Sherpa died! He was carrying equipment up and suffered from endema.
So far the only one having problems is the motorcyle crash guy. He's big and looks very strong but the 'metal' cage that is around his spine started to tighten up and hurt. I think they are going to send him home.
Anyone going to watch Daybreak tonight? I'm thinking about it but I go back and forth arguing with myself about it! :D

Hey elfdream, could the guy with no legs be the one Locke referred to as being his hero or something like that?
I almost watched that show, but something totally mind dulling won out.
EDIT - I found it in Walkabout
Locke - Norman Croucher.
Randy - What? Norman what?
Locke - Norman Croucher. Norman Croucher, double amputee, no legs. He climbed to the top of Mt. Everest. Why? It was his destiny.
Petragrrl 11-15-2006, 02:59 PM I'm soo watching Criminal Minds tonight... ... which is what I did during the summer anyways.
Ooh, waltisfuture... a quote from one of my favorite episodes :)

Jericho for me. Not watching Daybreak. Ick.
Southern Belle 11-15-2006, 06:22 PM Jericho tonight...don't forget...

He...it is a man...is quite a mystery...FBI guy...or maybe not...undercover op...or maybe not...ex-cop...yeah...for sure...has a family, who hit town just before the big boom.
gusthepolarbear 11-15-2006, 08:06 PM and you had to go announce your infraction to the entire world in a "why is it displayed" thread in ask the mods, southern belle, tsk tsk

I watched it 2 serial killers, fantastic, especially when they figured out that they were using the newspaper to get their messages out.
Jericho was good except I can't stand the fact that Eric doesn't know his wife is pregnant. I don't know what Hawkins is, but let's face it he knows too much. :eek2:

And Hawkins - dead shot! Loved that!

Thank you gus-the-friggin-polar-bear...
Carency was nice enough to remove that...
And now you've brought it all up again. *sigh*

Hey...what about the ghost-fiance????
I wondered about the fiance too. But I hope it's Jake and Heather, I think she is awesome.
I heard a spoiler about next week:
Someone dies and it's supposed to be Gracie.
And if this is true, I would LOVE it!!!!
elfdream 11-16-2006, 11:09 AM I don't like Emily. I like Heather..:)
Hey..at least its a guy in the middle of a triangle this time! :D
If it wasn't for the fact that April is pregnant I would want Eric to die..even though he did save the day.
I think we will see those "Ravenwood' people again and it seems its a GOOD thing that Hawkins showed up in Jericho. I think we will eventually see that bridge blown up sometime in the future as well.
The town got a new doctor!
Smidge 11-16-2006, 11:28 AM I think Eric should die anyways. April can do better.
And I agree, that bridge is going kabloom! Cool!
What bugs me the most about Hawkins is that he showed up at his wife's (ex-wife's?), picked up her and the kids, and showed up in Jericho? Pretending to be one happy family? He's one strange dude. Kinda reminds me of Sayid.

Its like he knew that the town was going to 'make it'.
I don't know if we would survive here if something like that happened...we're about 70 miles west of DC. I guess it would depend on which way the wind was blowing!

Exactly elf! And that map he had with all the stick pins, where other strikes had hit. I wish I could figure out where he's getting his information!
I'm about 70 miles north of Boston, close to the coast, but I'm pretty sure we'd be toast because of the sea breeze if they nuked Boston.
I don't like Eric either. I don't care whether he lives or not.
Hawkins picks a town out in the middle of nowhere, me thinks he knew something was going to happen. :nuke:
Did anyone notice that they may have mentioned who might be responsible for the nuking. I thought they said the Chinese
waltisfuture 11-16-2006, 12:59 PM The weather here was atrocious and the satellite kept cutting out so I thought I'd missed a bunch of stuff. My first question was going to be did Eric find out his wife was pregnant, which I see he didn't. Another thing that's unclear to me is the younger sons love triangle. The dark haired girl and his childhood sweetheart are best friends??? What did I miss. Did she move to town after he left?
elfdream who is the new doctor?

Eric doesn't know his wife is pregnant, but his mom does. I hate Eric.
Jake and the dark haired girl, Heather she likes him. She and Emily are best friend. Should make for a sticky situation.
I'm not Elf but I will try to answer the new doctor. He is the one they found in Rogue River.

Who was the guy in the bar drinking with the girls?

That was the new doctor in question. :) When Eric and Jake got in the car to race home from Rogue River they took the doctor with them. They wanted to take the soldier but he decided to stand and fight..and give them time to get away.
I didn't watch Daybreak. I did something revolutionary! I turned the TV...OFF! Wow. I have heard of people doing that but I didn't believe it. Didn't think that was an option. :wink1:
Carencey 11-16-2006, 01:26 PM Carency was nice enough to remove that...
And now you've brought it all up again. *sigh*
I had PM'd you to ask, but halfrek actually is the one that took care of it for you. At the time, I didn't have the ability to delete things in the Qs board.
But I think you're the one that brought it up again this time...so I don't suppose I'd have any reason to make the same offer again.

I stand corrected Carencey.
Thanks for the gesture.

I watched my DVR of House. But I admire your courage!
elfdream 11-16-2006, 01:42 PM What's crazy is I was waiting for the sun to explode and the planets to spin out of their orbits.
Nothing happened!
Anybody else sick and tired of the TomKat news? Turn on my tv and that's all that's on tv. This is just like the Brangelina crap.  Maybe Like Elf says it's time to turn off the tv. :bored:

I can't stand it either....but at least the political ads are off the tube. Where I lived we not only got the VA ads..we got the overflow from DC and MD as well. I was about ready to vote for that one guy but realized I lived in the wrong place... :D
workingmom 11-28-2006, 01:54 AM Smidge...
Congrats Darlin...
We seem to be in a new and growing club...
Oldtimer's who've always obeyed the rules...
Suddenly losing our minds...
And racking in those prized infractions...:happy_bounce:
I'm not such an oldtimer to the Fuse but I got one too...for baiting a perceived baiter...at first I thought everyone could see my scarlet letter and I was so embarrassed! I'm a mom!
What can I say, S3 has done this to us!
I really like Jericho but I'm not addicted yet. I hope it lasts. The accountant woman who is staying at the red-haired guy's farm was a human-organ-eater on a CSI ep and nearly seduced Grissom.
