I did today, incredibly! I met Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly at Old Trafford this afternoon  Dom is obviously getting Evangeline into football (well done Dom!) and she looked very fetching in a United scarf! I spoke to them both briefly and have to say that I found them both really lovely thankfully- it's always a worry that people you idolise turn out to be not very nice people :frown:

Have any of you ever had a brush with a Lostie?

To answer your question, no. But that sounds pretty awesome! I'm glad that they were nice. I have been reading that Evi doesn't really like to be approached by fans, so it is good to hear that she was pleasant with you. Sounds like a pretty cool day you had!

Wow! Vincent your soooo lucky. Yet however being a Villa fan I can't say i'm too pleased that Dom is a Man U fan.:eek2:
Did you get their autographs?

Well Dom lived locally (to Manchester) for some time, so it stands to reason. And since Stockport have iffy patches... :P

And Hetty Wainthropp was filmed in my home town :D

Yeah, I very nearly did! Unfortunately, I have a really bad habit of babbling uncontrollably if I ever meet someone famous that I'm totally in awe of- they may have thought I was totally insane and just gave me their autographs to shut me up  After I commented on her scarf, Evangeline wrote "Go Reds" underneath her autograph which couldn't have been more perfect

The downside of all this is that I don't think my best mate (who got me into Lost in the first place and adores Dom) is speaking to me anymore :frown:

Sorry about that Vincent, are they not speaking to you because you have Dom and Evie's autographs? Because thats rough.
*Gives a supportive hug*

Yeah, I think she's kind of annoyed about that (I just REALLY didn't want to push my luck asking for any more autographs as I felt guilty enough asking them for mine as it was) and the fact that she has been a fan of Dom's for quite a long time so maybe she feels she deserves it more? Anyhow, I'm hoping she'll get over it soon.

Thanks for the hug- it really cheered me up

Wow i'm glad they are nice people and glad Evangeline is not down after the house fire. Your so lucky! And Vincent_the_dog don't worry about it, i ALWAYS fall out with my friends but in the end we always make up, i bet you will be talking in no time.

lol glad you like the pix! Meeting celebs is kinda like a lil hobby of mine I suppose! Once you get into it it's really quite easy and very hard to stop!

Keep an eye on the Showmasters forums as they're the guys that organise the conventions where I met Elijah, Ian and Maggie. Next con is in March in Manc

All the celebs I have met have usually been in relation to doing film and TV work (none from Lost though). From my experience celebs fall into two catagories either lovely, genuine people or totally self-obsessed primadonnas who are a nightmare to work with (Yes I'm talking to you Tim Vincent and Katie Hill, thanks for ruining my childhood preconceptions of Blue Peter ;) )

Yea, whats wrong with Tim and Katie? :eek2:

I think Tim kinda looks like Matthew Fox

I've never met any celebs, unless you count Craig and Cameron from Big Brother or bands that came to my school but never made it . Oh well, Peter Andre was one of them, I guess he kind of made it but really, who wants to brag about meeting him.

You never know who you might randomly bump into in London. When my sister was there she met Donny Osmond, Colin Firth and one of the kids from that S Club 8 band in one day. When I was there however, I met..... no one :drowsy:.

When I was about 8ish, my mother (& me) met BROS, that 80s boy band, but im not proud of that one.

Oh, first of all they are incompetent, you should see them in rehersals, and they are both arogant ***** (insert worst words you can think of). Working with them they looked down at everyone and bitched constantly. Dianne Loiuse Jordan, now she was a lovely person, but despite what she told the viewers she couldn't wait to levae Blue Peter because of all the bitchiness and backstabbing. Yeah I met Gordon Kaye about 13 years ago, he was a grumpy sod!

Very, Very cool, I met the other Bruce Dickinson, the one from Little Angels outside a gig, but the only Rock Star I have met was Billy Bragg who is a great guy and I had a couple of long conversations with ( oh and I bought the lead singer from Ash a pint once, can't remember his name though).

My family seems to be good at meeting Royalty, Years ago my Sister met Andrew and Fergie and my mum danced with the King of Denmark and more recently my parents had lunch with Princess Anne (she has a good line in dirty jokes!). I've managed to get myself invited to a Royal Garden Party, oh and I got invited on the Royal Yacht Britannia :)

I was very jealous of a mate of mine as I missed out on doing some film work he was doing with Michaela Strachan - and she was even nicer than she seems on the telly

Haha, whoever said you can meet anyone in London, they were right! Then again I was at an event, so it wasn't like I just randomly walked into people...anyways..

I got to meet, Jon Snow (I was sitting in his seat getting a photo with Charlie Dimmock when he arrived and came to sit down.), Charlie Dimmock, Pete Waterman (he actually came to us, and started a conversation. lol.), Ester Ranson, A head person of Walt Disney, and of Sky, there was some presenter from ITV there too, didn't recognise her, there were a few others but they didn't really move around and talk to people, just stayed at their table.

It was a good fun night!

Wow! I think living in the UK we're not going to have as many encounters as others but the Man U game one is good!

What do you reckon the chances are they'll come to Portsmouth to watch Man U v Pompey? :undecide:

I go to gigs and I kind of lurk around and I've met Jamie T a few times. I've spoken to the lead singer of The Maccabees (Orlando) and although he was polite I got the feeling he was quite uncomfortable. And when I was in Florida I walked past Avid Merrion (Bo Selecta!) and shouted "AVID!" and he turned round and smiled. Bit sad really.

I'd love to go to a convention or something over there, I read someone on hear says they babble on, well I'm the opposite I kind of go silent and look away when I get the oppertunity to speak.

Love Jamie T. I lurked about at gigs all the time as well til I came to the US in autumn for uni. Which one were you? ;)Also Larrikin Love. Travelled with Libs/ DPT and Radio 4 and drunk with Graham Coxon, Gordon and whatsisname from Bloc Party, Dogs Die, and some others. Had my first spliff with the late god Joe Strummer with whom I performed.
Came on this board for a larf, cool to see mention of Jamie T and all. Nobody in US seems to know his stuff sadly enough.

I met Tim Vincent one time, though we didn't really talk for long enough for me to form an informed opinion of him. Good-looking chap though.

As for Lost actors, I met Naveen many many years ago after a theatre perforomance he did. Nice guy, and an incredible actor, even way back then. Does that count, as he wasn't yet a Lost actor? :D

Other Lost people I've met are Maggie Grace, Mira Furlan, DDK, Harold Perrineau, L. Scott Caldwell, Sam Anderson, Adetokumboh M'Cormack, William Mapother, Greg Grunberg, John Terry, Zack Ward, Daniel Roebuck,Brittany Perrineau, Andrea Gabriel, and Jamie Silberhatrz (Rachel Blake from The Lost Experience!)... and I could have met Neil Hopkins too, had I not been so busy chatting with Andrea at the time, dammit! :D

If only "eyes meeting across Jimmy Kimmel's Studio" counted, then I'd have met Kiele Sanchez too, but sadly efforts to actually meet her in person after the show failed miserably. :(

Not Actors, but some Lost creative types I have met are JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse, Bryan Burk, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Paul Dini, David Fury, Drew Goddard, Liz Sarnoff, Christina Kim, Matt Ragghianti, Jordan Rosenberg, Gregg Nations, and probably a few more, but it's late (for me, I work nights) and I can't remember.

From memory, the only one I was particulalry "tongue-tied" with was JJ.

As fitting for the Lost extra fan girly that I am, the first lost actor I ever ran into was Chris Candella at Walmart on my first day in Honolulu. He was as happy and (positively) shocked as we were, when I tipped him on the shoulder and asked him if he's one of the extras on Lost. :71: He was so nice and talked to us for quite a while and left with the words "You totally made my day!" All we could say was: Dito!

Then a day later, I had the pleasure to finally meet my friend Dustin Watchman who was just as nice, sweet, goofy and teasing as he is online and we had a great time with him and a lot of fun.

And last but not least I met Michael Emerson on my last day in Honolulu. We were just crossing the street in front of our hotel when I noticed that my friends were suddenly gone, so I turned around and saw them standing in the middle of the street, talking to Michael Emerson! He just happened to cross the street at the same time we did, and my friend HippieJewel recognized him! And let me just tell you: He couldn't have been more the opposite of his Lost character Ben in real life! He was so nice and sweet and talked to us forever and we kept apologizing and telling him that we don't want to keep him from wherever he was going, but he said nono it's fine.

I have to say, I thought, I would be totally tongue-tied and nervous about meeting any of the actors and that I wouldn't dare to say a word but all of them were so nice and approachable that I only felt thrilled and excited but not intimidated at all.

Same goes for Christian Kane, who's not a Lost actor but the first VIP I met and had a chance to talk to.

I have met some of the Lost cast at conventions and they have all been really friendly. I have my photo taken with some of them as well. I have met Jorge Garcia, Ian Somerhalder, Maggie Grace, Sam Anderson and Nathan Fillion. I really want to meet more of them my wish list includes Josh Holloway and Terry O'Quinn, I really hope they come to an event here in the uk sometime in the future.
