This was an interesting poll... I voted for a Korean speaking Jin with Sun interpreting. Which is very odd, because in the first part of LOST I couldn't wait for Jin to learn how to speak English! But, for some reason, a totally articulate English-speaking Jin is somehow unappealing!! Weird, huh??

Maybe him speaking a little more English, but I don't think I want him to become entirely fluent.

Yea, maybe I should've just made the choice an ESL(English as a second language) speaking Jin. That would make more sense I guess.

I suppose it would be more realistic to have him speaking a few English words here and there. He does do this already, but I would think that after being there 70+ days he would be getting pretty tired of his wife having to translate all the time, and he would be making more of an effort to communicate.

But I still love the way that we can work out most of what he's trying to say even though he's speaking Korean. That always makes me smile. :rolleyes:

An English speaking Jin would be nice. Enough with the mime act already.

I'm not voting because there isn't a choice that appeals to me. I like Jin no matter what. If his English progresses, that would be great. If not, I don't mind English subtitles.

Hm, I voted Jin seaking Korean with Sun translating because I love the fact that they have this bond with their language (just think of that scene before Jin goes on the raft, when Sun gives him the phrase book thing) but also it makes anything he says in English more meaningful.
Like I said, I love the Korean, but maybe he could learn a few more words, just enough to get him by without always being helped by Sun.

I would like Jin to be able to speak full sentences and have full conversations with other Losties, when he's speaking to Sun he will still probably use Korean since it would be easier for him.

You'd be surprised how easily some people can pick up a new language when they are submersed in it and forced to do it. Also, English is present almost everywhere, including Korea via mass media and the internet, Jin at the very least would be used to hearing it and probably has a few favourite songs in English that he sings along with.

I like Jin the way he is. If he learns more english great. But im perfectly happy with him speaking Korean and Sun translating.

that would be pretty great!

I'm just glad that in their flashbacks, no matter what they will be speaking Korean and we will still get that whole aspect of the show.
