Not sure if im breaking VIP Rules with this but it seems Emilie has split from her husband after a few months. Here's the article I read.

Well Irish I'd say there is hope for you yet.

All kidding aside that's sad info. It seems such a short time to try and make it work.

The news came from her publicist, so it should be okay.

I hear of that happening a lot. People are together for years, then they marry and divorce in months. They were dating over three years before they got engaged. You think you'd know a person.

But I wonder if this now means Emilie is free to stop commuting and live in hawaii. Interesting this news coincides with news that Claire is going to get much more screentime the rest of this season. Maybe her increased workload demanded she leave LA and they decided it would be best to split. Hopefully this means more Charlie and Claire on Lost for the long haul now that she's more available.

As for you Pacey!... ;)

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, Charlie benefits from Em's anguish Disgraceful

I blame Charlie for the separation, its his fault! :)

He's a marriage wrecker, (aswell as a druggie babynapping women beater ;) )

I wasn't sure if we could post about this either, but I do see now that the publicist announced it. I hope Emilie is doing okay, and yes, PJ it is interesting that this coincides with the more screentime for Claire spoiler. I hope she moves to Hawaii. It would bode well for Claire's future on the show.

FYI Irish's link doesn't work anymore. Here (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20006109,00.html) is a new one.

Oops, is it bad that I think more about the show than the actors? ;)

I do love Emilie though and hope she's doing okay in this tough time.

Oh that's too bad things ended so quickly after the marriage, I didn't know Emilie continually flew in to work on Lost, that's one heck of a commute!

Not when you have one line every other episode. It's probably less than one day a week. :undecide:

Actually that's true, I can just picture her schedule - boards plane in the morning, takes out her script and a highlighter, flips through the pages, keeps flipping through the pages, keeps flipping through the pages, highlight a line for Claire, keeps flipping through the pages, reaches the end of the episode. Spends five minutes on the plane memorising her two lines for the epi. Spend 30 minutes thinking of different ways she can deliver the line for that extra dramatic effect, Spend the next 30 minutes practising holding a baby doll. Arrives in Hawaii.

The flight's a little longer, tho. ;)

And yes... sad news... but it seems to happen more often... there was something about short marriags on MTV last night and they mentioned a lot of VIP couples who've been dating for years, then got married and split up a couple of months later.

It is sad, although we don't know who initiated the split---even so, divorce wouldn't be fun for either. I wish Emilie the best, and on a good note, thousands of men world-wide will be thrilled to know she's single again. :)

I wonder sometimes if the invasion of privacy for celebrities is a major factor in their splits.

ETA I should add that I am not speculating on the reason for Emilie's separation. My comment was generic.

This is actually a good point a marriage suddenly brings a lot of attention to a couple and makes them a hot item to write about and take picture of. That would definitely be a general increase in the invasion of privacy. If I had a celebrity wedding I'd make sure it was secluded and that afterwards we both kept a low profile for months!

I really doubt it. Just an unfortunate circumstance. And to be honest, Emilie isn't even one of the high profile actors on the show.
