When Sayid is escaping, he throws some written documents/papers on top of the map before rolling up the map and putting it in a backpack. What do you supposed was written on the papers?

Notes on the animals there, the plants. Maybe her dairy. IceKat55 11-18-2004, 04:10 PM Hmmm. It didn't even occur to me that it could have been Danielle's stuff he was putting back into his backpack - - I assumed it was his own things, he left to 'map the island', so I assumed it was a map that he'd been drawing along the way. Danielle had pulled out the pictures, so I just thought that was his. Interesting! Merry 11-18-2004, 04:17 PM We clearly see that he left Nadia's picture, didn't he? I thought that was weird because he cared for it... did I miss him taking it back? I think he took various maps and papers... SellerDweller 11-18-2004, 04:18 PM He never did go back for the photo.* He is going to miss that. icy_one 11-18-2004, 04:22 PM I think a big theme for this show has been "letting go." Jack had to let go of his father at the caves, Charlie had to let go of his drugs, now Sayid is letting go of the photo. For Charlie and Sayid, the objects they left behind were kind of like crutches for them. They kept them because they didn't know what to do without them. I think Sayid left the picture behind because he doesn't need it to remind him of Nadia anymore - he learned from the experience and has assimiliated the lessons learned. darkpiranha 11-18-2004, 04:51 PM Agreed, icy. So what does that say about Sawyer's NOT burning his letter. Obviously he hasn't let go, but does that imply that he will be on the wrong side of whatever sides are being drawn up? Is the letting go a GOOD thing? Does letting go make one more, or less receptive to the disease or whatever the mystery of the island is? Danielle obviously has NOT let go. What does it mean? DP My What 11-18-2004, 05:29 PM Sayid will find his love again one day even if this is not shown in any season of Lost. Let us just hope for the poor guy he does. :) I do not think Sayid could have drawn such elaborate drawing of the island on his two day journey considering he has not walked the entire island yet. One of the drawing almost seemed to be a scetch of the island from a overhead view. What is that type of map called? Topographical? Ah, somethin like that. Any which way, I think Sayid did grab some of his own stuff and some of the French Ladies stuff. |
