...and K/K/S are returning to the Survivor's island, do you think it might finally spur people on to exploring the island and the Flame hatch and the Radio Tower without having to worry about the others attacking them? Or will they stay their uncurious selves?

Well that's been the general pattern so far.

I thought they would have found the community by now. That island must be much larger than they display, in order for the Others to not have been found.

The island is huge, at the end of season 2 on the raft we see the island and how big it is, also at the begining of season 3 the long distance shot of otherville reveals how big the island is as well the tail section crashed relatively close to otherville, it took the tailies along with sawyer, jin and mike several days to make it to the losties camp.

Remember Ben wanted Desmond's boat so the Losties couldnt sail around the island and find them.

Had Sawyer NOT let Karl go, they could have found out exactly where the Others live.

I agree with Sawyer though, I think having Karl with them would have been a liability.
As for the island, estimates are that it is roughly 99 miles long, and since most Lostie excursions have probably not gone beyond a dozen miles or so, that leaves plenty of room for the Others to remain safely hidden on the other side.

It may well be that long, but I seriously don't think it would need to be quite that big for large areas of it to remain hidden from the Losties, especially as a lot of it is mountainous and/or thick jungle.
Now Danielle is another matter ... it depends if you can accept her explanation for not exploring too much or too far. Personally, if I was stuck there for 16 years curiosity (and boredom) would get the better of me.
