Wednesday night right after the show, I was happily posting away and experiencing very little slowing of the board (thanks to my subscription!) (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=46871) but I noticed at some point that I couldn't edit my new posts. Is this feature turned off when the board is really busy???
Thanks!

you should be able to edit but I have noticed that the inline editing sometimes seems to stall when the board is busy. Next time try the go advanced option when editing and see if that helps.

What happened when you tried to edit a post? Was the "Edit"-button gone or could you simply not save a post after when you tried to edit it (see this thread (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=55479) or this one (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=56217))?

I know for me I have trouble with the quick edit button fairly often. It will say please wait but will just keep spinning the little circle and not complete. I hit Go Advanced and do it from there and it works every time.

That's it, exactly. It just spins and never completes the edit. I'll try the Advanced option next time.
Thanks for the advice everyone!

I have the exact same problem, so I just hit Go Advanced. Works every time. :)

UMods and SMods are also not immune to that particular glitch, it's an equal opportunity messer-upper, that one. :) I tend to find it affects edits of long posts more often, but it got me on short ones last Wednesday.

And it's not just a problem during peak times. If the "little Smokey" (yes, I call it that--doesn't it look like Smokey? heh) spins for 2-3 seconds, I just go to the Advanced function.

Thanks y'all!
Now I feel stupid about not knowing how to get around it! Seems like everyone knew about the Advanced work-around but me! :p

Everyone has a first time when they find out about this, I remember the first time it happened to me I was trying to post a whisper transcript and I let smokey spin for about 10 minutes and it still didn't post, I thought something was messed up with the board and that I couldn't post anything. I had to e-mail someone to find out the workaround :D

"If at first you don't succede, hit "Go Advanced" and try again..."
Oh, and yeah, Myha the mini-mod told me that. It wouldn't post for some reason, and so she just told me to go to Advanced and do it that way. It was annoying at first, because I kept pressing the regular one, but I eventually got used to it. And I recall now that it was during busy times...

"If at first you don't succeed, hit "Go Advanced" and try again..."
Maybe that should be added to the FAQ!
