Is it me or is anyone else freaked out by the way Karl seems to be asleep and yet he hears what's going on around him (i.e. Karl riding in the boat with Sawyer and Kate and says that freaky line about Jacob...which didn't seem like it was on point). I mean, dude seems to be in and out of consciousness - like he's been programmed to strike when he hears certain "trigger" words.

That's just me two cents.

Yeah. Manchurian Candidate exactly. I know a lot of people mentioned Clockwork Orange during the last episode but I thought "Manchurian Candidate". Something's not right with this kid.

He's got a creepy stare which reminds me of Ethan and I'm sure some hidden talents.

He is brainwashed, that's why he responded "God Loves you as he loved Jacob" incongruously. What the brainwashing is and what it means is unclear.
