I'm actually really pleased with how "...In Translation" went. I love that we finally got to see more of Jin's past. It also made me angry at the other characters, most of whom I've loved a lot, for jumping at his throat. Sure, he had fights with Michael, but all the same it wasn't fair. I thought the displaying of his emotions was beautiful throughout the flashbacks... thank you, writers, for finally showing the real Jin.
And besides, he's chosen to co-operate with Michael. Even after getting the crap beaten out of him, he still went to help him. So yay for Jin, and hopefully the "WIFE BEATER!" comments will stop now.

I agree with you. This was a very good episode. I'm an even bigger Jin fan now because of this ep.

I've actually always liked Jin, but I definitely like him more now. I like how we got to see more of his motivations and just exactly what he did and why he did it. The ending of the episode broke my heart though.
I'm interested to see what's next for Jin. He's become quite compelling to me.

What's so amazing is I've been a fan of Daniel's for 6 years or more, and I'm still amazed at how wonderful an actor he is. When you think that he's got to act in a language he's still not completely comfortable with, this is truly an Emmy worthy performance tonight. In fact, all season long, he's mostly had to act in a langage not being translated for the audience, but we still understood. He's had to act with looks and reactions to the physical, and we understood. Daniel has been incredible all season long, and it was nice to really see him shine tonight. I'm so proud of him and of the writers for giving us something incredible to enjoy.

yukailin...Good points. Daniel has done a fantastic job with his character portrayal despite the language hurdle. I'm not nearly as familiar with his work as you seem to be, but I am very impressed by what he's done on Lost so far.

wow! I always liked Jin, but I didn't really give him much thought. Now he is one of my favorite characters! That episode was amazing. Think my fav part was when we got to see what is was like for Jin, when everyone was fighting and we couldn't understand what they were saying. And yes, Daniel is a freakin' AMAZING actor!! YAY LOST!!* *;D

I'm speechless and beside myself! "in Translation" was the best episode yet!
I watched it twice last night and thought it was even better the second time. I love Daniel Dae Kim, but now, I am obsessed with him. He's clearly one of the best actors on the show. Sun was pretty awesome too. Thank you ABC for finally showing Jin' s backstory... I'm in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't particularly liked Jin at first, but after watching ...IT, I thought to myself "what a great dude" !
(and DDK is an excellent actor 8))
