Hello, a friend was telling me about a reoccuring theme which may be developing in season 3. In the episode "Not in Portland" as well as "Further Instructions", the undercover polic officer who comes for Locke and the man from Mittleos who makes his presentation for Juliet to join them, both appear to be wearing some kind of eye makeup or eye liner. Could this be any kind of connection or maybe they are just very in touch with their feminine side. Thoughts?

Interesting that you mention this because I thought the eye make-up on the Mittleos guy was particularly pronounced and very much meant to be noticed. I puzzled over this for a short while before I finally realized why the dark eyeliner on the guy looked like something I've seen before - a typical make-up style used by Egyptian men in antiquity. What this means, if anything, I don't know but thought I'd throw that out there.

The appearance of the Mittelos recruiter was discussed in the NIP forum. http://thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=68422 People that recognize the actor (Nestor Carbonell) from his other work say that it is not makeup; that is how he looks. Profile w/ photos: http://imdb.com/name/nm0004801/

I don't recall any discussion in the FI forum about Eddie's makeup, nor do I think its especially noteworthy in screencaps. http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?album=1185&pos=106

Maybe you could elaborate what type of connection are you positing, other than perhaps a new makeup artist has worked on those episodes or one of the makeup artists is going a little too heavy on some actors?

hmmm...That's interesting, but I doubt it was intentionally done for the benefit of the show. It just seems that a make-up artist got too into it and put a little more eye make-up on them.
