Loved it when Sawyer said "and B - who the hell are you?" to Nikki. Classic.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was great as well.

"Who the Hell are You!" has to be a shout out to the fans, IMO.

Nikki was extremely annoying in this ep...well in every ep. The "who the hell are you" line was Sawyers best line ever.

I am convinced Sawyer was saying that to each and every one of us - we have been saying that for awhile and he finally put our thoughts into words!

See, I interpreted this line in more of a "Who are you to tell me what to do?" kind of a thing. It's clear that Nikki has stepped up into more of a leadership role to fill the vacuum left by the abductions. Obviously, Sawyer would know who the hottie was (he can't be THAT enamored of Kate), but maybe she had never spoken up like that before. I, for one, cannot get enough of Nikki- more, please!

Sawyer doesn't know who Nikki is. She wasn't "introduced" (and I use that term loosely) until after he had been captured by the Others............oh..wait..she's been on the island the whole time. Yea that's right. Oh the fond memories of her and Ana Lucia getting into a cat fight when the tailies merged with our losties. Or the time when her and Paulo had a tif and she went to the caves and he stayed on the beach. I'm glad to see those two back together.

It was a total shout out to us fans. Best. Line. Ever.

fantastic scripting. The whole sub plot (Sawyer, Hurley and the ping pong ) was just great. It brought some levity to the situation and really featured some super writing. I love Sawyers lines but thought the bet was kind of weak. He couldnt use nicknames...for a week? Oh well...it made for good tv. It was fun to watch Hurley con the con man!

That line by Sawyer made the ping pong sub-plot (a total waste of time, otherwise) worth it.

It was about time somebody said something like that. My only question is why did it take so long???

yeh i dont necessarily hate them but I dont understand them being there. The writers make almost no use of them and when they do its usually a weak line or two that does nothing to advance (or even acknowledge) the story. I do pray that if they must do a FB episode for them that it really brings something vital and important to the story. I dont want to just know their story, but I want to really discover that there is serious significance to their role in the story. Otherwise, just use them as cannon fodder and let the island deal with them. Anytime the camera focuses on them we lose precious seconds of story telling...

I wish I the nick to credit with this, but I don't. Supposedly, while Sawyer, Kate, and Jack were captive, Desmond time-traveled, and/or caused a "change" in the time line, on the Lostie Island.

This may be the reason Sawyer does not know who Nikki is. She (and Paulo) were not on the island before Des time-traveled, or whatever he did, to affect the time line.

It was odd that Sawyer did not make a comment about Paulo, when he asked Nikki who she was,...oh well, chalk it up to the on-going lack of communication between the characters, I guess,...

I agree. It seems that Paulo is quite protective of Nikki. Last week he pulled her back by her belt loop when Hurley was looking for volunteers to try to start the van. Maybe there is a reason for Paulo's concerns.

I think PTBT introduced because they needed new people to kill. But first they will do sth heroic, even if reluctantly.

Prince Aries - I'm with you all the way on this one. I think the best explanation is that Sawyer actually did not recognize Nikki, and for some reason it surprised Paulo. I think the theory about Desmond's time travel somehow causing Nikki and Paulo to be on the island is genius. The only problem is that, if that were the case, Sawyer would remember them. I guess there could be some time of crono-bubble around the hydra or something.... implanted memories could also be the reason why everyone except Sawyer is acting like they've been there all along, but I don't like that explaination as much.

The biggest reason that Nikki and Paulo are so hated precisely because they haven't had any flashbacks. If we knew them we might or might not like them, but they wouldn't be hated as they are now. I think a flashback would be a really good thing for their characters.

I think it's even more possible now that Nikki might be an Other, based on Sawyer's comment. It would be funny if Sawyer was the only one paying enough attention to realize she wasn't around right after the crash.

Paulo going to the bathroom all the time is also suspicious...but seems like a red herring...it's what made Ana Lucia suspicious of the wrong guy in A48Days. Maybe it's red herring reverse psychology! :smile:

I thought it was hilarious when Sawyer saw the toilet paper and said "keep it"... didn't want his mag back after seeing where it'd been! Ha ha! That gave me the biggest laugh of the night. :biggrin:

Tho', if Nikki or Paulo aren't Others, then I'm even more curious to find out their story... In a recent podcast...
the producers hinted that these characters will be infamous with fans, once we find out why they've been introduced...

So far, we have only found out that Paulo likes toilets and uses toilet paper.

Perhaps he was a sewage systems engineer and he will set up restroom facilities in the island. Could be, folks, could be.

I agree that there could be a twist involving their sudden appearance, but he didn't really follow it up like "no seriously where did these two come from, let's torture them until they tell us"

I neither mind them being there, nor hate them obviously - and actually would be interested to find out their back-stories, but agree that it was a great line from Sawyer.

The look Paulo gave after he said that was very suspicious to me though - they're definitely set up for something bigger than toilet jokes and annoying viewers (can't say I'm one of them, but I'm not blind and see the trend among other fans).

It could be that it just indicated how much (little, respectively) the survivors communicate with each other, or show that Paulo's overprotective (don't see a correlation in this scene though) - but I think this was one of the subtle hints for whatever's coming up for these two.

You could be onto something here -
As we saw last season with the flashback from the other point of view - Sawyer may indeed have had conversations with them -
and then to suddenly say who are you???
Is that the REAL Sawyer - or is that the TWIN??

Not to burst anyone's bubbles, but I think the writers recently confirmed that the twins are not integral to the mythology of the show. Not to mention that they'd make absolutely terrible plot devices and/or plot twists, IMO.

Maybe you loose time or memories if you leave the island - maybe what every it is that happened to you while on the island becomes a dream - like Desmonds flashes - but when you return you have a bit of memory loss over who and what has happened??

I didn't mind Nikki going up to Sawyer and standing up for the other survivors. Character development. Get used it. If we found they are actually others in Expose. Then hell, i keep watching until they are golf clubbed off the island.

He suggests that Nikki and Paulo's being on the island could have been a result of desmond turning the key, going back in time, and something small changing which resulted in Nikki and Paulo being on the plane - this would explain their sudden appearance.

i love this idea and really hope that its true.

in more general terms i really hope Nikki and Paulo develop into something worthwhile which will teach a lesson to all those people that decided to hate them without giving them any chance to prove themselves.

I don't understand Pikki but I'll do my best to withhold contempt untill I find out what their purpose is. I've read that the producers seem very confident that they will win us over, so I'll trust them, for now. They've gotten me hooked on this show so I figure they have earned the right to have me trust them.... but they had better not dissapoint me. =\

Hard to belive Sawyer wouldn't have noticed Nikki before. So either the Desmond time travel scenario or they are Others which explains Paulos look after Sawyers
