It looked like after Mikhail shot Clue that he was gonna turn the gun on himself and then John stopped him. A 2nd gunshot could even be heard.

I missed it in the 1st airing ... maybe being caught up in the "what da hell just happened moment".

Anyone else see the same thing?

A second shot was definitely fired, if I recall correctly, but I'm not sure if you could tell if he was going to turn the gun on himself or on Kate and Sayid.

Patchy was definitely about to shoot himself in the head, that's why he screamed at Sayid to "FINISH IT!" and also why Sayid doesn't kill him...

i noticed that too...
it's hard to say, it happens so quick...
if he was going to kill himself, then this guy is
quite impulsive when it comes to death.

*possibly gonna shoot himself
*shot miss klugh
*said finish it, just kill me (when sayid had gun to him)
*told sayid, the moment he let his guard down he would kill him

:insane:

OK ... now if Mikhail was trying to kill himself then why would John stop him. More information maybe????

I think Locke just made a grab for the gun, we can see that Mikhail was pointing it at himself but Locke didn't know that.

There is no conspiracy-angle here that I can see.

Well, yeah...if you have a prisoner that you can potentially get information from and his own death would prevent you from getting that information...um, wouldn't you stop him?

It's not a matter of being unnecessarily humanitarian or anything...he just didn't want to lose his chance of getting more information
