I noticed when hurley tried to start the van, we saw a red button next to the ignition labeled "emergency" Now I know Vw's, and as far as I can remember, they didn't have an emergency button. I can't find a screencap on lost media. But my thoughts are, was it a way to connect to dharma? Like if there was an emergency, it would alert whoever he was near to? I'm almost certain Vw's don't have them, as I can't think what use they would have. thoughts? Also, since this dharma van didn't belong to any station, why did it just have dharma written on it, and not the arrow straight through the middle like we have seen from the arrow/misc items/the shark? Found a picture. http://texmontana.com/vwemer.jpg

The emergency button turns on the four way flashers.

It might be the four-way flashers, although that's usually represented by a triangle. "Emergency" would also make sense though, so it probably is just those flashers...

Yeah, was probably just for that type/year of VW. Never mind then, its simply attention to detail in the VW.

I drove a 73 VW Beetle in high school and I remember a button like that. It did turn on the hazards. ;)
