We saw some more clues about tattooing this episode, which raises once again the whole question of Jack's tattoo. We saw in "Stranger in a Strange Land (http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Stranger_in_a_Strange_Land)" that Achara gave him part of his tattoo, but we haven't yet found out where he got the rest of it yet. But now we see that Claire is a tattoo artist (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=89480&fullsize=1). Could this possible mean that Jack and Claire would have met before Flight 815? Did she give him the rest of his tattoo? Ideas anyone?

I was looking at one of the screencaps of Claire's tattoo shop, and there are two framed photos that are located on the front side of the counter directly in front of where Claire is standing in this screencap (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=89479&fullsize=1). It is difficult to see exactly what these photos are, and I don't really have any software to enhance or magnify them well, but what it appears to me is that Claire is in at least one of them, and perhaps both.

Look at the photo that is on the right. To me that appears to be black-haired Claire giving someone a tattoo. Who is getting the tattoo? Does anyone recognize him? I really don't think it is Jack, because the tattoo is on his right shoulder, and Jack's is on his left.

In the other photo I am thinking I also see Claire - she is sitting down behind the counter in the photo, and some man in a suit, white shirt and tie appears to be standing to the right of her.

Does anyone have any way to enhance these images? Or even better, does anyone have screencaps where these images are better displayed?

Well I dont think the pictures are of her giving Jack a tattoo, because this Claire flashback was several years ago before Jack got his dad fired for drinking on the job. Jack went to Thailand after he had gotten his dad fired, and got his first tattoo, so it wouldn't make sense, timeline-wise.

It was never indicated directly that Claire's a tattoo artist. She was doing piercings at the shop. Granted, some tattoo artists double as piercers but not all.

I'd just like to point out that the other tattoo on Jack's arm, is Matthew Fox's tattoo in real life. I don't think they're going to try and weave it into the show.

Claire would probably recognize Jack (and more specifically his TATTOO) if she had given it to him. I don't know that much about Australia, having never been there, but I wouldn't think tattooing Americans would be an everyday thing.

Oh my gosh! I was so busy looking for that tree-like tattoo that Jack has on his arm, that I didn't notice that! Good eye! ALEX... She's the person who was responsible for saving Claire's life by smuggling her out of the medical station. But of course that happened a long time sequentially after Claire was working in the tattoo parlor...

Still, the picture is fascinating! It looks as if it's a picture of an island with palm trees growing on it, and then there's a snake on the left-hand side of the design. To tell the truth, I'm not sure what that picture is... Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, they said they're going to weave the whole tattoo into the story, so we can expect to find out where Jack got the rest of his tattoo at some future time.

Yeah, I think maybe you're right. It's so hard to make it out from that angle, but I think it is a male tattoo artist at work. Does he look like he could be a Thai? He sort of has that appearance to me...

Heh, perhaps you're right, but something tells me that TPTB cannot resist incorporating Jack's tattoo (or rather Matthew's real life tattoo) into the plot in some very diabolical way... They truly are sadistic buggers, you realize! ;)

Did anyone watch this episode??/ the person behon claire is an unknown extra who she had just gave an ear piercing to, she handed her the mirror to look at it, then turned around to see her/jacks dad.. but very good spot on the ALEX.

I also think that we will get a flashback where jack does visit claire's tattoo shop but dosen't see him.. otherwise i think she would of said to jack as soon as they crashed hey we did that tattoo and i also think its weird that she's never come to jack and said hey nice tattoo, where you get it done....

if you worked in tattoo shop you'd appreciate other tattoo's, another flaw by the writters!!
