I might be wrong but...what was up with the scene with Jin and his father in the boat? His father was telling him to save his marriage and everything, BUT ISNT HIS FATHER DEAD?? On Jin's wedding day, Sun was saying "I wish ur dad could see this". So his dad would be dead before there were any marriage problems. So was Jin just imagining this or what?

I took the statement to mean, his father didn't want to go to the wedding for some reason, like he didn't approve??? Not that he was dead.

I think he was ashamed of his father. Rather than explain him as a fisherman he just avoided the issue and said he was dead.

When Jin saw his father - he apologized, saying he had been ashamed of his father. *

He could have told Sun and her family that his father was dead to avoid introducing the powerful family to his fisherman dad. *
