anybody get the sphere vibe during this episode? ... im not sayin im committed to this theory but somethin like it may be possible ... the island may arrange or manifest things according to the inhabitants ... hurleys numbers ... desmond wants to be important - hatch with button, jack wnats to save people, locke wants to walk and be away from his dad, kate doesnt want to run from authorities anymore, walts polar bear, hurleys car, jin away from paik, sun to have a normal husband, ekos brothers plane, ben getting jack to do his surgery and locke to blow the sub ... the island seems to be controlling everything ... and prob did with killing juliets husband, the ring lady and the character connections before the crash ... just a thought

I never understood the book, never saw the movie. Just seemed thatthe sphere had this power with no explanation (oh yea, its from outer space). I like the Shangra-La connection being discussed in other threads.

yes the manisfestation idea fits well. I mean how else do you explain Cooper being there? I think that it is an island manisfestation of Locke's memories and it is brought to Locke to test his goodness or compassion. Well, I mean it could be a million different things but I am liking this theory for now, even though it might go against some of the things the creators gauranteed that it is not...
