Until we find out that they can't, anyway, suppose the Others are capable of leaving the island any time they like, and integrating themselves into society.* How would this change your pet theory?* For me, it would allow the pilot of the plane to be in on whatever happened.*

To me, it would make the Others more sinister. Right now they're just creepy and maybe even misundersood. If I knew they could get off, then I'd think of them as more evil.

We have never actually seen anyone other than Danielle and Ethan and they appear to be human ---- is it possible the only other people on the island are people that are stranded just the same ---

Esp after Locke said you know we aren't the only ones on this island --- as you know I don't trust Locke -- is it possible he is just trying to throw suspicion to "others" when there really are NO OTHERS

I think any scenario is completely possible, Care.* If the island can trap people, there might be other victims who have been there for just years and who are just bonkers, not mystical.* Tthe Others might be people who can come and go but who are ordinary people with some kind of an agenda.* There might not be anyone else on the island besides Danielle and whoever escaped her shooting spree.* Danielle herself might be a plant, and not French, not stranded, not a scientist and not crazy.*

I don't trust Locke either, and he's pretty good at throwing suspicion on other people.* *:laugh:* I still think he either knew who bonked Sayid or he did it himself.* *

I don't think any of my theories include people who LIVE on the island.

There might be Others on the island, but they don't LIVE there. As in... crashed sometime earlier and can't get off.

That includes Danielle and Ethan.

(Think of Survivor.... these cats are thrown together in a remote area... and they're PREPARED to get dropped off... they lose a load of weight and their clothes are trashed.... this after just several weeks... Danielle and Ethan look way TOO ...I say.... WAY TOO chipper to even pretend they've been on that island isolated for, in Danielle's case 16 YEARS!!!.)

you make a really good point kgmaus. Sure, Danielle and Ethan seem a bit looney, but (especially for Danielle), how can we even imagine what it would be like to be stranded for 16 years?! I don't want to sound gruesome or offend anyone, but you'd think Danielle would have killed herself after all that time. Aside from the occasional scary moment, most of the time you'd just be bored out of your mind!



I like the idea that the "others" can leave the island. I've never heard that before. That also kind of lends itself to those government experiment theories.

In the end.....it have to be able to be explained....

I don't necessarily agree that Danielle and Ethan CAN leave the island --- after 16 years -- I am sure she would find a way to clean her clothes and self --- People on Survivor are to busy scheming -- and competing for food - etc to think about how they look --- or take the time to do anything about it ---
Danielle has nothing better to do than figure out how to care for herself on the island --
AND when you think about it -- look how GOOD some of the the survivors look --- Shannon still has her hair done and makeup appears each week --- Probably because they brought items with them - and given that Danielle was on a science trip I am sure she packed accordingly also ----- BUT if there are others on the island I would LOVE to see them be able to leave the island!!!

Well I live in Sweden, and here most people have only seen what is shown on TV.....episode 4......but I´m with you guys so when you all are asleep.....I´m fully awake......writing, reading and all the other things one migt do here at the other side of the island........ :-X

Danielle could be working on whatever scientific experiments she was going to do in the beginning. It would keep her mind busy. She may have gotten further than she ever imagined.
