View Full Version : You Really Have to Look at this epi before judging... lots of answers
wannabecoollikesawyer 03-29-2007, 02:14 AM first off great epi. there are so many things to catch up on when i rewatch this tomorrow.
one thing that struck me was that 8 hours island time was 8 hour real time for the losties.
when nikki is being buried they show that it was 8 hours ago that she was bit. there is no question in that. they wouldnt caption "8 hours earlier" and then have the losties bury them 4,5,6 hours later. so does this mean that island time and real time are not different at all?
Another thing answered was how everything Ben does is very well planned. and also how Juliet is not what she appears to be. she asks ben how hes going to get him to perform the surgery and he says by manipulation and shes ok with it. meaning that juliet has been following this act all along. and to think i felt sorry for her when she was branded like a cow. it was all an act and still is.
other things i have to look at is all the eery quotes the characters give us. they are clues. and also nikki in that red bra. WOWSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great episode.
lockesmithe 03-29-2007, 02:17 AM Yes, many of us are glad that they finally answered the question of how Nikki looks in a red bra.
LouisianaLostie 03-29-2007, 02:19 AM I totally agree. I thought this was a great episode with lots of answers. First, we found out why/how Nikki and Paulo were on the plane, we found out what they had been doing, we found out the entirety of Ben's plan to get Jack, we found out that he didn't just stumble onto the fact that Jack was a surgeon (and now we need to ask whether Ben somehow caused Jack to be there), Sun found out about Sawyer and Charlie, we found out that Sawyer really did not seem to know who Nikki was, we know why Paulo had to go to the toilet in the Pearl (hee, hee), and lots of other things that I'm forgetting now. :)
wannabecoollikesawyer 03-29-2007, 02:24 AM another thing. do u really think that the producers would stick a "pointless episode" right here right now in the season. i think there is way more to this episode than what we think.
most of this "pointless episode" talk comes from the negativity surrounding PIKKI. We all had a bias toward Nikki and paulo coming into the episode and that bias really made tonights viewers miss important stuff.

EricNinden 03-29-2007, 07:46 AM I personally don't judge an episode by how many "ANSWERS" were given. I don't say "Gee, that episode only had two answers! That was only half as good as last week's episode. It had FOUR answers." I judge it on entertainment value. And this episode wasn't entertaining to me, save for a few small parts.

:rotflmao2: and Paulo with his shirt off.
PINK FREUD 03-29-2007, 08:11 AM I think Pikki served one plot purpose for the creators:
They showed how it's not ridiculous to presume Christian could be alive, despite the morgue scene.
molly1977 03-29-2007, 10:06 AM Things I learned last night:
-spiders can be bad
-diamonds can really do a couple some damage
-paolo is a good cook
-nikki slept with an old man
-oh, they are murderers
-dr. artz knows about physics, chemistry, and zoology
-thanksgiving passed on the island without any notice
-nikki cleary works out
-paolo is actually pretty cute
But seriously, I am not seeing this epi as being one where we learn all that much. Besides some insight into Ben's machinations, this was pretty much pure filler, IMO.
There is one thing about the walkie talkie, but I will save that for later.

bryce110 03-29-2007, 10:15 AM I generally don't care about answers or mysteries. I LIKE the character stories. The reason I disliked this episode so much is more broad. Why introduce Nikki and Paulo AT ALL if this is what was going to be done to them?
Debisobsessed 03-29-2007, 10:57 AM I think the spider venom/paralyzing stuff was very important , i.e. Christian may still be alive. I also think the reference to thanksgiving was also improtant to let us know what the date is on the island. Didn't the horrible tsunami hit around x-mas?
