I figure Claire's baby is about due for a thread.

All we know so far is that danger surrounds this baby. We have been led to believe that the danger is going to come from the Others. I wonder how this baby will figure into the plot, especially when Danielle talks about Alex and asks where her child is. Did the Others take Alex? Will they try to take Claire's baby? Why? And really, how committed are the other survivors going to be to fend off the Others to save Claire's child? Ok, Charlie would do anything...but would Locke? or Sayid? Hurley?

I've been wondering about the baby too--specifically, a) will it be allowed to survive, because b) what are the Lostaways going to do with a squalling baby in their midst? Will it always be offscreen being babysat by some red-shirt whenever Claire has something to do in accordance with a plotline? Or is she going to just be Lady With A Baby on the show from now on? Once it's born, what possible function could it have plot-wise? Will we be looking at a constant battle against jungle-dwelling abductors? Ethan was a great plot twist, but wouldn't more baby stealers get repetitive? Any thoughts?

I kind of think it will be like the rest of the characters, sometimes they get airtime and sometimes they don't. (think Vincent)

As far as the baby living in perpetual danger of jungle savages, I have no idea where they're going to go with that one. I have a theory, but it might be a bad one. Suppose the jungle people keep making attempts for the kid. Some other Lostaways might just say, screw this, give them the kid and they'll leave us alone, X number of people have already died. But some people will say, no way, we must protect this child. That could divide them into two different camps. The beach people and the cave people will have some friction from that point on.
