If you could travel back in time, who would you like to meet in person?

It has to be someone either important to you, or an important character in history. So who would that be?

I would love to meet Freud, just to ask him what in the heck is going through his mind. of course he would prolly just tell me how i have repressed anger at my mothers love for dad and make me his case study...... oooh shivers.

I would want to meet Tolkien and Rosemary Sutcliff. The only authors who have actually changed my life. One of my great regrets is that I never even got to write to either of them.

Farther back? Boudicca. Aneirin, author of Y Gododdin and Cynon ap Clydno, also from Y Gododdin. Taliesin. (Are we seeing a pattern here? :P ) Who knows. . . too many to list. :)

It does seem that he was very introverted, *but* he also loved discussing his subjects! Anglo-Saxons, OE, philology, etc. Besides, then we could settle for once and for all whether or not Balrogs had wings! :P (They don't. ;D ;) )

William Shakespeare, the man is a mystery. i really want to know why he gave his wife the "second best bed"
i would also like to go back to the time of Lincoln's assissination, and slap my relative upside the head for his part in the murder (David Herold, i'm somehow related to him)

Excellent choice. He is the first one in my list also.

Noah
King Salomon
Albert Einstein
Sir Isaac Newton
Leonardo Da Vinci
Walt Disney
Gengis Khan (He would probably kill me, before he let me interview him)
Napoleon
I almost forgot, Charles Chaplin

I would love to meet Queen Elizabeth I. And Benjamin Franklin. I'm sure there are others, but I'm drawing a blank.

I guess Jesus would be the top of my list, too. Others would be some famous women from history- Betsy Ross, Dolly Madison, Lizzie Borden (without her axe! ;)) and a more modern one Mother Theresa.
Have to include my first old time movie star crush - Errol Flynn (talk about a bad boy )

George Washington. - The father of our country.

Thomas Jefferson. - writer of the DoC. I've been to Monticello. He was truly a genius of his time.

Robert E. Lee. - as the descendant of a Confederate soldier, I've always wanted to speak face to face with the man who is described as the South's George Washington. One of these days in Heaven, I'll get to.

Ronald Reagan. - The man that won the War. I will consider it an honor eventually, after I die, to get to shake this man's hand.

And,

Jesus Christ. - No explanation necessary, otherwise me kneeling upon sight of Him.

I'd like to meet Tolkien because it'd be interesting to hear more about Lord of the Rings from the creator's perspective than what the movie industry has imagined it to be. Perhaps it's all very different... Middle Earth and all of the languages are fascinating.

There's someone else that I'd like to meet too, but I can't remember... :-\
