He is the one holding us back from finding answers. Who cares about the new start speech he gave Kate in season 1. We want answers and Jack is the reason we never find out.

yeah, him or the writers' 5-year story arc, one of them is the reason that we never find out.

I for one hope Jack doesn't die. I love his character. Although, his would be a death that we're not expecting so it's possible.

Somehow I think the people that create the show decides what we find out stuff, not the characters. Sayid demanded Juliet tell him everything and you see how well that worked.

Certainly... buton the show, Jack is the "non-curious" one and when he's in charge his followers don't ask many questions because they follow his example. The first thing the Beach-dwellers did when Jack was taken was to start sharing information and looking around.
