This is hysterical. Have you seen where they live? All they do is camp!!! I found it hilarious that they could entice the guys with a camping trip... considering they all live under tarps as it is.

View Full Version : Camping??? mames 04-19-2007, 10:04 AM This is hysterical. Have you seen where they live? All they do is camp!!! I found it hilarious that they could entice the guys with a camping trip... considering they all live under tarps as it is. pacejunkie 04-19-2007, 10:06 AM Yeah but wasn't Jin cute? "Camping? Hmm...camping. Yes." He really wants to be one of the boys. I'm glad they included him. The marshmallows, the Korean ghost story, the guitar by the campfire, the hikes. It was more like summer camp than camping. Very cute. piscescat 04-19-2007, 10:11 AM I was thinking that too - going camping as a change from... camping? Hmmm.... and yes, Jin was delightful with his ghost story and enjoyment of the outing. I like when he can have moments like this. MaggieRyanJr 04-19-2007, 10:22 AM Jin is quickly becoming my favorite character. I love how he is integrating into the Anglo community. Between his assistance with the DHARMA van, and now the camping trip, he's one of the gang... spinster 04-19-2007, 06:07 PM I thought that this was a bit uncharacteristic. Jin leaves his pregnant wife who, to his knowledge, was already abducted once by the "others." They have just heard that her pregnancy is putting her life in peril, and to top it off, Juliet is on the beach now. I like Jin, and I really liked the ghost story, but do you seriously think that he would have left her for a night or two out with the boys? shootfire 04-19-2007, 06:35 PM My guess is that knowledge of something bad happening to pregnant women on the island has not yet trickled down to a.) the one person in camp who speaks little English and b.) the one person in camp that is actually in that condition. I don't think anyone would really want to be the first to inform them. The whole whistling as they marched thing was funny too. Who remembers that camping classic? Comet, it makes your mouth turn green. Comet, it tastes like gasoline. Comet, it makes you vomit. So try some comet and vomit today. Tigerlily1647 04-19-2007, 06:35 PM I agree, Spinster. That was way off. I was also pretty disappointed that he went along with it so quickly. But Jin's ghost story was hilarious!! Holding the flashlight up to himself, then the end when he throws up his "handless" arm. That was so funny, I almost missed the rest of the scene. I really love him hanging out with the guys too. He fits in so well, even though he barley speaks their language. It's a nice side of Jin! bryce110 04-19-2007, 06:39 PM It was a ridiculous premise for sure, but the outcome was worth it. Jin is awesome. myothercarisflight815 04-19-2007, 07:29 PM Jin's ghost story is by far one of my favorite LOST moments of all time. Buck Dharma 04-19-2007, 07:53 PM I agree w/ the O.P. here, I thought the setup was pretty ludicrous. It was like: "Hey guys, let's leave the campsite and go ... camping?!" Right. I didn't see the point, but I did love the ghost stories by the campfire scene. Anybody dig up a translation yet? I'd love to find out what Jin said. silverwhitemoon 04-19-2007, 07:54 PM This is hysterical. Have you seen where they live? All they do is camp!!! I found it hilarious that they could entice the guys with a camping trip... considering they all live under tarps as it is. and speaking of tarps....where in the h**l are the losties getting all those tarps? Was flight 815 carrying a shipment of tarps?!? myothercarisflight815 04-19-2007, 08:15 PM and speaking of tarps....where in the h**l are the losties getting all those tarps? Was flight 815 carrying a shipment of tarps?!? Dharma tarps? I think the food drops always had a tarp on them... Steerpike 04-19-2007, 08:32 PM Hurley knows about Desmond's visions so he may have guessed that something was up. He is turning into Ben's less evil twin. He can be quite a con man and manipulator. TheHade 04-23-2007, 09:29 AM Has Jin's ghost story been translated by someone, yet? ireneadler 04-23-2007, 10:59 AM Actually, I found that setup disrespectful to Jin. Hurley and Charlie knew why they were going. Jin, however, accepted... why? That was dumb of him. To belong? Come on, he's a grown man, he's not in high school. Camping??? Oh yeah of course, let's go, great! The jungle has Rousseau's traps, boars, probably crawling creatures of the venomous kind. Oh, and whatever it was that made that loud sound in the Pilot. Others. Maybe Smokey. It is silly to risk yourself like that for... camping! I could accept having a reason to spend the night in the jungle, but failing that, why? Jin should have been respected in his intelligence and been told the truth. But the question is... why did he have to go? Because Des saw him, ok, but what is Jim's role in the affair? Will he serve any purpose with the finding of the parachutist? shaft121 04-23-2007, 11:09 AM Yes, his service was to help catch the person who landed on the island. Two people would find it difficult to catch somebody the way they did, not without risking dropping the person. Plus, maybe he just asked for some extra screen time in the calm before Sun's pregnancy kills her and he goes on a berserk Other killing rampage. ireneadler 04-23-2007, 11:16 AM Yes, his service was to help catch the person who landed on the island. Two people would find it difficult to catch somebody the way they did, not without risking dropping the person. Good point. They needed 3 guys to safely drop a person hanging from a tree. So Jin served a purpose already, though of course there might be some other. TK 421 04-23-2007, 11:20 AM Also, it was Jin who saw the pilot's beacon. I felt badly for Jin during the walking scene where Hurley and Charlie were talking about Superman/Flash. Jin looked like he was really trying to understand but was feeling left out. I really hope he works on his english skills more! shaft121 04-23-2007, 11:29 AM Well, him accompanying the other guys is a great way for him to improve. Ladybug_ocean 04-23-2007, 02:18 PM Has Jin's ghost story been translated by someone, yet? Yep. Here (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showpost.php?p=1504647&postcount=34)you go. :) TheHade 04-23-2007, 02:33 PM Yep. Here (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showpost.php?p=1504647&postcount=34)you go. :) Thank you very much for helping me out as for some reason I didn't manage to find that thread on my own ...! :blushing: Anyway, that's awesome, I love that story! Im Puzzled 04-24-2007, 09:44 PM I was thinking that too - going camping as a change from... camping? Hmmm.... OMG that totally cracked me up. TheHade 04-25-2007, 08:33 AM Daniel Dae Kim just posted a slightly different version of the story in his MySpace blog (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=99686932&blogID=257480314&MyToken=beb9192d-609f-4c29-86ae-f43cbad1c170): And the girl turned to the man who saved her and said , 'Thank God. I was afraid you were the Hook Man.' And the man looked at the girl with a smile and said, 'Don't worry, little girl. My hook is....STILL IN YOUR FATHER'S HEAD! This is even better! So how come you understood something different, davek68? Did Daniel Dae Kim speak inarticulately or with some heavy accent? |
