After watching "One of Us," and seeing Juliet's relationship with Goodwin, I'm starting to think that Michael had two jobs to do on returning to the Swan. First and foremost was to help Ben escape, but secondly he was ordered to kill Anna Lucia. Even though Juliet and Ben didn't get along so well when the plane crashed, I believe she was in charge when he was captured by the survivors. She was expected by the Others to orchestrate Ben's recsue, but the sly Juliet also had another plan in mind. For Michael to kill the woman who killed her lover.
If you'll notice in "Two For the Road," when Anna Lucia gives Michael the gun his expression looks calculated when he says "sorry" and shoots her. But when Libby startles him and he shoots her he acts totally shocked, scared, and truely sorry. Anna Lucia was planned, Libby was an accident.
In "Live Together, Die Alone" when Jack reveals Michael to be a traitor, Hurley asked Michael if he killed Libby, and Michael pleads "That wasn't the plan" (or something very close), as if HER death wasn't planned.
What to you think?
AND - could this mean that Charlie's emminant death will somehow be linked to him killing Ethan? Revenge? Juliet had a weird a weird look when Hurley told her that Charlie killed Ethan, as if she was working on another "plan."

to tie in Charlie to your theory is hard because I don't know if the others have that much power to keep putting Charlie in danger over and over again. I mean sure they have power, that's obvious, but I just have a feeling that Charlie's dilemma has nothing to do with them.
Also, why do you hate Michael?!! No, I'm kidding alot of people do and for obvious reasons. I am not one of those people though, I can't hate him. I can understand how in the situation he did what he did. It's murder, not doubt about it and it was shocking and horrible. For some reason though in LTDA when he finally was revealed to be the killer and that he was lying to all of them I just felt something for the guy. When he was explaining the whole thing and defended his actions with having to get his son back at any cost.
good theory about Ana's death being because of Goodwin. However I can't agree. I think that Michael was given the list of names by the others. That's it, I don't think he was given a plan on how to do it. He felt like he had to kill Ana, because if he didn't she would obviously rat on him and he could never convince Sawyer, Kate, Jack and Hurley to go with him.If you are saying that Juliet had some planning into Ana's death than you also have to say that she had something to do with Ana having sex with Sawyer which is how she got the gun that ultimately killed her. Libby was obviously not planned, he didn't know she was going to show up, but by that point it was too late, he was too far into his plan and didn't think twice before shooting her as well. I think he would have done anything to get his son back.
As for Juliet looking like she is cooking up something else, I think that you are absolutely right. I tend to think that maybe Ben and her made another deal and she is to carry out some plan for him in order to get something that she wants. I don't think she would do what he wants for nothing. Unless I am totally off base here, which could be!! I think she is there perhaps because of sun's pregnancy, let's not forget what Ben and the others did to Claire because she was pregnant. I don't know if I believe Juliets reasons as to why they took Claire. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
I just hate the fact that Juliet is pulling the wool over so many people's eyes. Especially Jack because he carries alot of weight with many of the survivors. He is seen as a leader so if he trusts her, why shouldn't they? Thank god for people like Sayid and Sawyer though, I think they balance out with Jack very well. They won't trust Juliet, and hopefully they will be onto what she is really doing there.

I don't think Michael had specific orders to kill Ana Lucia. His apology is just as easily explained by the fact that he knew he would have to kill whoever was gaurding the door to break Ben out. Mike would have shot, and probably apologized to before hand, whichever character was in Ana's place.
Mike was surpised by Libby walking into the hatch, and shot her by accident. The plan was to break Ben out with a minimum of fuss, and killing Libby was not part of that plan. We don't have any evidence that more was involved.
