When the Others were closing down there camp, Ben seemed to be taking a great interest in a book that when Locke walked over to speak him, he seemed to hide it away rather quickly. Am I looking at something or nothing?

I just rewatched the episode, and noticed the same thing. He seemed to be packing his things, but then he tossed that book onto the pile, along with what looked like a couple picture frames, and then walked off with them.

It did seem at first as though Ben was trying to hide the book by covering it with the picture frames, but then he picked them all up. Could be something, or it could just be action in the frame. Either way, it's peculiar, and the book cover didn't appear to have a title on it, or an author.

Diary, DIARY. Maybe Ben's, maybe Jacob's, maybe someone else's diary who is important.That's the only kind of book i can think of that wouldn't have a cover or a title.
