Didn't Hurley's financial advisor say something about boxes and investing in boxes ?

Didn't Locke work for a company that made boxes !?!?!

Now that someone explained the Jin/hurley possible connection...this could be a Locke/Hurley connection,

Did Hurley invest in Boone's bridal business ?

I am sure that there could be a connection to the rest of the cast as well?

What was Walt's Mothers and step dad's occupation ?

Michael was a contrator, maybe he worked at one of Hurleys companies ?

Sawyer - Not sure of the connection yet

Jack - Did Hurley invest in anything Medical ?

Kate - Not sure if there is a connection

Shannon - Conneted to Boone by circumstance

Sun -Connected to Dad's company

Sayid - Not sure why he was in Australia yet

Claire - Not sure if there is a connection

Good one.

I bet Charlie's checkered sneakers are from Hurley's (former) sneaker company.

This post ties in so well with Chloe's 'Character Connections' post, I wish there were some way to 'connect' them (pun intended).

The problem with the money is that it was so cursed that Hurley couldn't get rid of it. Any attempts to spend the money would result in him making a profit elsewhere in someone elses misfortune.

What was that thing about the lawsuit? I wonder if it has anything to do with one of the survivors. Perhaps Locke's? Reason for being in the chair?

Or was it for something entirely different. Either way this money was not going to let go of Hurley.

The lawsuit was for the false arrest.

I have just been wondering, due to Dionisis' post, whether all the survivors are somehow connected, directly or indirectly, through Hurley's money. Or more precisely, through his use of those numbers and then via the money?

When watching the ep, I wondered if Kate burned down the shoe factory in Canada that killed 8 people.

Hurley is going to be rid of the money by losing it all to Walt at backgammon.

If hurley was cursed walt shouldn't be winning in the first place...... and shannon would have been dead.

The box company connection might be there because we heard that Hurley owns a box company and we heard that Locke worked for on.

Nobody ever spoke of someone investing in Boone's company which I take it is not exactly his although he mostly ran it. That is/was a family business. His mother's business.

Walt's mom was a lawyer. Maybe the 'step' father too. She seemed to bounce around the globe a lot (that's why Walt burned the raft-he didn't want to move again)

As to the others, not a single clue even vaguely left as to a connection. Not that there won't be any but none indicated so far.

I think Hurley being on the island, is immune from the curse now, so anything that happens to him now is coincidental. The man in the loony bin told him that he had to get away from the money. How far can someone be than on a deserted island?

It would be funny for them to escape only to find the world destroyed!!

The fact that Hurley is losing at Backgammon is a clear indication that the curse is not effecting him there. He's losing. The curse won't allow Hurley to lose money, but since he's on the island I don't think it effects him anymore.

Hurley had quite a few reasons to need an international lawyer - Susan?* She and Brian worked for an international law firm.* She was always moving around with Walt.* Susan could also have been consulted by the other Lostaways with legal issues in Australia (where she was at that time).* Jack - re transport of his dad's body; Kate - she was in jail for bank robbery and surely would have asked for a lawyer; Sawyer - we saw him at the police station being questioned, and knowing him as we do, I can bet he demanded a lawyer.* Locke - might have wanted to get his money back from the tour company and consulted her about it.* *That's at least 5 Lostaways who could have used Susan as their lawyer. Any others?

Hurley says:* "Don't call me Shurley." :lol2:

OK....way back when hurley did his census thing asking everybody's name, address, occupation....did he ask locke what his job was?? and why didn't he say anything about owning that box company??

Did he ask them what they did back home? I don't think so. He was just asking for names and any polite conversation that went with it.

Right, Hurley was just trying to find out which passengers had survived and what everyone's names were.

when hurley did the censes we found out that Lcoke lived in Tustin CA

when boone asked locke what he did in the real world, he said he was a regional supervisor in a box company.

so we can assume he worked for a box company in tustin ca

hurley's financial adviser said he was a major stockholder of a box company in tustin ca..

most employees don't know who the stockholders are.

so connected? yes, know each other? no.

I like the idea of some of the lostaways using Walt's Mom as their Lawyer, but I can assume that she died around that time..No ?

Hurley told Charlie that he felt that he was responsible for the plane crash, Charlie dismissed his comment but based on all of Hurley's past happenings I would say he was partial responsible due to his bad luck.

As for his bad luck carrying on with him to the island, I feel it has. After he crossed the bridge..we all enw Charlie would have a problem because anyone around Hurley has bad luck !

So the Theory of Huryley having bad luck is probably incorrect, he is probably inclined to have incredibly good luck but all those around him suffer the consequences.

Also, one can assume that in the "Real World" people are saying that these crash victims are dead. Hurleys money is probably already distributed to his family and is not even his anymore through inheritance.

Didn't hurley start talking to someone else saying he wanted to get away from Locke?
It seems now that could have been because they were both from the LA area. Hurley might have feared he could have known he won the Lotto (local news)

I know Ethan is/was one of the "others" but he did say he was from Canada. Could there be a connection to Hurley's sneaker factor that was destroyed? I also believe there might be some connection to the friend of Claire's that took her to the psychic and Jin and Sun, perhaps a relative of one of the two.
