No spoilers here, just alot of interesting REAL history pertaining to the late philosopher Locke and the 3 Anthony Coopers he encountered in his lifetime. This is from a blog and the info is great, so I figured it was pertinent to pass it along: oh yea, and there is some interesting stuff about Naomi in there, and i now know why her name was a spoiler...read "The Brig" by J. Wood.

Totally...the writers do such a good job of getting us into the subplots that we forget the overall picture:

The island originally was based on philosophical thought manifested into social experimentation. They did mention BF Skinner as one of the muses for the DeGroots and we obviously have the namesakes of other prominent philosophers. I think its genius to relate the story to actual history.
