I found that too. I grew up in wisconsin so I thought it sounded like a familar zip code.
The only thing I can think of is that Mark twain grew up in Hannibal Mo,and Mark twain wrote Tom Sawyer. But this is a real stretch, I think if it meant anything they just would have used the zip code for hannibal Mo.

If he was transporting stuff to different hatches his dad probaly told him the code or whoever the person is who gave hhsi father his job.

I'm sure no adult would give a kid the fence code. But since the maintenance people need it daily, it couldn't have been too hard for him to sneak it.

I think this could very well become a very important question. I wondered the same thing when he pulled out that piece of paper. Someone had to have given it to him. When you throw in the question "What happened to Annie?" something tells me we haven't seen the last Ben flashback...

i would have thought the way the 'first' numbers seemed really important, and had us running round looking for them, searching for grids and trying to work out what the heck they meant - only for them to be forgotten during s3, would put us off searching for more.

none of the numbers means anything, it's just a layer on the pass the parcel plot. lots of layers are dropped on the floor, as we head to the prize. even hurly has forgotten them
