With the introduction of an invisable Jacob this got me wonder about Hurley's buddy Dave. Does this now mean That he could be real? Not just a figment of Hurley's imagination?

and Ben seeing his dead mom.

Maybe they aren't all hallucinating, maybe the island is some kind of "soul magnet" and all these ghosts collect there, and Jacob is a dead pirate ghost and he is responsible for it and dear god I really hope the show doesn't devolve into some kind of stupid supernatural thriller.

So we have three different type of hallucinations going on here.

-People seeing the dead: Jack sees Christian, Ben sees his mother, Eko sees Yemi, etc.
-People seeing Figments of Imagination: Such as Hurley seeing Dave.
-People seeing other people on the island, which are still alive: Shannon sees Walt, which at that point was with the Others.

There has to be a single, reasonable explanation for all three happenings. I am still hanging on the to theory that Smokey is the creator of these beings, brought from the subconscious of the people, as a test of sorts (not saying we're in purgatory). None of these figments were ever caught...till Cooper. Which was a test for Locke set up by Ben. I'm taking a leap here- Ben has connection with the person that has control over Smokey. "Get me the Man from Tallahassee" He said. :)

That was Mikails cat, not Sayids. Mikail interacted with it, so it was clearly not just Sayid seeing things. It just reminded Sayid of the cat from his flashbacks.

If you're familiar with my theory about smokey manifesting as things then I'm starting to believe Dave was smokey in disguise. Hurley made his peace with "Dave" from his past through his interaction with smokey.
