Sayid has always been important to the survivors because of his handiness with electronics, and lately, for his sense of "common sense" and instinct. He's been the default right hand to Jack since they landed. Now, Naomi has emerged with a satellite phone and Sawyer and Hurley seem to be taking a more leadership role. Does this mean that Sayid is the next to die? Disregarding any spoilers, I think that they are writing the show in the direction that he's next. Wasn't he with Locke when Eko died and said "you're next?" Just some food for thought.

I'm actually leaning towards Claire. But I see where you are going with Sayid....anyone with common sense on the island usually dies.

I never thought of that!! Locke just got shot, does that mean something will happen to Sayid too? ......I hope NOT! he's the only one with any kind of sence right now!!

However, has Sayid reached his character's "resolution" yet? I mean, that's the only saving grace for him. and btw - WAS THAT NADIA last night? the girl that Charlie saved in the alley? I kept on looking and wondering if that was her, and i just couldn't tell. I live in Hawaii, and the alley where they were filming is the same as the bar that Locke met his father in, and right next to where Bernard and Rose first met.

I actually have a bad feeling about all three of the shooters: Sayid, Jin and Bernard. Looked to me like Bernard and Rose were reintroduced so Bernard's death would be more poignant.

If they were just choosing the best shooters, why wouldn't Sawyer be among them? Sawyer botched the Marshall's shooting, but he was quite accurate in downing a charging polar bear and a marauding Other. The answer I come up with: It's not Sawyer's time to die.

i'd have to agree with you. I mean, I've heard on the Official podcast that Bernard is supposed to become important, and it seems like they are just setting up deaths at this point. Jin seems to be around ornamentally, because he's become such a fan favorite. But man, I'm going with my instincts on Sayid's life.

I hope that Sayid stays alive. However there is a little voice inside me that reminds me that noone is ever safe. I am just hoping that Sayid stays around, I love that guy. It would be a severe mistake if the writers get rid of him.

I hope he's not gonna die...but i'm a little worried because he seems in peace with himself....and it's never good on this show! lol
However i remember Juliet talking to him about what he did in bassora (sp?) so i think he will have at least another flashback!
I love Sayid and hope he won't die...but you know i loved Charlie too...and Boone, and Shannon, and Anna lucia and Eko ... lol
