If Desmond's 'flashes' are in effect a kind of deja vu - remembering the future - then how come he saw Charlie's death this time when he wasn't around to see it? All the rest of Desmond's flashes have been his own memories of the future from his POV, rather some remote vision from and unspecified viewpoint. Any thoughts? Will Desmond in fact be there when Charlie dies?

man usually i am good with swirling time lines and parallel dimension story lines but i get a head ache on this one. I like Des' gift but I dont think i raelly understand the nature of it...

I wondered at the time how Des saw the whole thing with the blinking switch and stuff..

But it seems fairly obvious from the previews that Des is going to go in after him.
