It seems that this is a logical tie in connecting the last 2 episodes. We didnt see Annie die in the purge and Ben alluded to the fact that there were others that joined him with the Others. Also, with the connection between Ben and Annie, I would just assume he warned her that it was coming so that he could save her.

but haven't the others been in touch with the looking glass? in which case ben would've known if she was there.

Annie would be Ben's age and the women in the Looking Glass were younger, so I don't think so. Hopefully we will find out what happened to Annie next season.

The 2 women are credited as Bonnie and Gretchen, I believe. No Annie, sorry.

They could have been, but the audience has not been told anything about Annie as TPTB ignored her during the purge scene, which of course just left everything up in the air.

I think Annie will show to have been a cause of distress in Ben's life - maybe she was pregnant with his child and died.... I'm not certain we'll see her alive anywhere -

I'm convinced that Annie left when Ben was young, hence the doll he keeps. If she had survived and they were close I would have expected them to exchange other gifts and Ben to have other special items from her. Kind of like Kate with the toy plane - she was seperated from her childhood friend and that plane means a lot to her because of that. Yes she saw him later as an adult but that was briefly after a long absence.

I'm guessing that we'll find out that Ben got Annie preggers and she died in the seventh month of the pregnancy.

That would explain how Danielle was so certain that he was an Other.

Sayid said something like, "What if he isn't one of them?", and she replied;
"He is one of them."

It would also explain why she shot him, as in, she knows that he's dangerous because of the purge.

I don't think Annie's complete story is going to be revealed to us so soon. She could be Danielle, but it would feel like to much of a retcon of Danielle's backstory. I think Danielle could have a connection with Mikhail, actually, based on his reaction to hearing her voice in Enter 77. (Seemed like her recognized her, but knew she wouldn't recognize him.)

Ill go ahead and third that notion. Seems to me that having Danielle become some deus ex machina all of a sudden would be worthless, considering that she is already mysterious and alot of us have assumed she was with the Others all along, but Im not so sure anymore about that specific theory. At any rate, the point is that if TPTB are going to have some plot reveal about her, they should do it soon to get it out of the way because if they are saving it as some huge revelation, I think many of us saw it coming and I never thought I would be able to say that for LOST on one of their "jump the shark" plot-twists.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Ben seems like the guy who'd be willing to make sacrifices of others for his benefit.

Jack said that it takes 40 to 50 years for clothes to degrade like this. So it would be unlikely that Adam and Eve are Annie and another hostile.
