So, we know since the Brig, when Locke comes back to the Losties camp, he's on the main island. Sawyer kills his father and locke walks to Ben's camp. Now, in greatest hits, are they on the other island? Why does Karl take the boat? The camp with Ben and Alex is on the HydraIsland? If so, how could Locke just walk there? Maybe I'm missing something obvious, I just thought the others camp was on the main island.

Hmmm... I was thinking the beach camp was on the opposite side of the island.... maybe Krazy Karl used the boat to beat the people on foot? Maybe I am missing something....

Alex tells Karl to take the boat because she knows the Losties have a camp on the beach, but doesn't know where it is (neither of them have ever been there). When Karl leaves, she tells him to hug the coastline until he sees them. I'm guessing she has a vague sense of what direction it is, so Karl isn't risking circumnavigating the Island.

Plus, a boat is faster.

Yeah, Zap is right. Everyone is on the main island and no one (that we know of) is left on Hydra island. Karl used the outrigger merely to beat the others to the Losties.

Thank you. It seems obvious to me now. The Island is really big.

I think I read somewhere that TPTB said the island was about 100 miles long or so. Plus there's two of them.

Im kinda curious as to why the others need to travel by land. Yes we all know the subway went the way of almost every NBC show this year. And for some unknown reason they couldnt let mikey and walt off somewhere in the sub, they gave them the child abduction S.S Minnow....and i thought they had aquired desmonds sweet ride? So why cant juliet just tell jack she knows where that boat is, you can fit a lot of smelly islanders on that boat, or even better ride out to where Naomi's rescue boat is. Im also under the impression that if your on a rescue party, and the one person you sent to rescue everyone didnt come back, id tell someone. So i dont know what to make of naomi just yet. And by the way if you remember desmond took the only picture from that day with penny....so how did a parachuting brit on a kamikazee mission to lostville end up with it as a bookmark? doenst make sense, unless penny is diddling the photo guy?

WoW! Those are a lot of random questions to bring up all at once . . .

First, Walt and Michael were given a boat and coordinates to follow to "find rescue." We don't know the full extent of their trip but I DOUBT they found rescue.

Second, the others did acquire Desmond's boat. However, Juliet may not know where it is. Also, you couldn't fit 50 people on it NOR could you necessarily trek to it in time to avoid the others. Also, Naomi's rescue boat is 80 miles away. With the wierd magnetics of the island I'm not sure they could find it.

Third, Naomi had been flying search missions for a few days apparently before finally discovering the island. We don't know that a search party isn't doing the same for her. I do agree that its too early to trust her.

Fourth, Penny Widmore is WEALTHY. Money can make a lot of things happen. Besides, we don't know that they didn't have the photo duped so she could have a copy. There are reasonable explanations for multiple photos.

Slightly off topic, but Hydra related:

Upon Jack's first attempt at escape from the glass room, he almost floods the area. He also asks if they are underwater, and he is told yes. Beyond that, there is no indication of them being underwater as the Hydra mini-season plays out. Do we believe that he was underwater, or perhaps only below a Polar Bear swim tank? Does it even matter?

For the purposes of the season finale I don't think Hydra island really matters. I think the "big island" is where the battle will take place. Ultimately I think and hope we see more of Hydra but as for now I think it's on the backburner.

As for the station being underwater, I think part of it was above ground -- IE the cages -- and the tank was under a lagoon. They probably worked on the Dharma brand sharks in that tank at some point.

I'm with you on that one. I doubt that that other island will be even a minor part of the storyline in the finale. And if we ever go back to that island for the rest of the series nothing at this point indicates that it is an integral part of the storyline. One of the others even said that "we don't go here unless we have to." So I doubt that they'll be going back there unless it's something very important regarding nothing that we've seen already.

Agreed. I was referring to the first 6 episodes of season 3 as the "hyrda mini season", having nothing to do with tonight's finale.
