I think everyone should tip their caps to the writers. This season has been amazing and with this episode/ cliffhanger/ mindbender they are continuing to rewrite the rules of serialized television.
If the Losties did in fact get rescued already and now are trying to get back on the island, the writers will be taking a HUGE risk by changing the format, setting and mood of the show. But it's risk worth taking and one I think that all Lost fans can take knowing that they are in good hands for the next three seasons.
I cannot wait until Winter 2008!

Agreed, I think last night was the best TV I have ever watched. The twist that it was a flashforward totally blew my mind!!

I think next season may see a split story with part taking place on the island and part taking place off the island. That might lead to some interesting possibilities.

I love it. It's either the most brilliant move in TV history or the dumbest.
Either way, I love the show because it takes risks and they can count on my big butt being parked in front of the TV when LOST returns next January.

The writers seem to know their stuff.
