View Full Version : Juliet never told Jack how she got to the island?

This is really bugging me so I thought I'd make this my first post. Is it safe to assume that Juliete never tells Jack about how she got to the island? Also, we can assume that Juliete doesn't tell Jack about Mittelos and her sister? Jack was looking for the island with maps, but logic would suggest that he should have investigated Mittelos, Dharma, Juliete's sister, Penny, etc. The finale basically tells us that Jack doesn't learn anything more about the island than he knows now. That's very depressing, and it's also something I refuse to accept. It lacks reason.
Surely, between then and now, Jack will learn exactly how Ben got to the island right? I'm afraid the next three seasons will continue with the pattern of Jack and company not asking logical questions that normal people would ask. They will just blindly go about their ignorant ways.
There is obviously a special way to get on the island, and Jack should figure this out either through Ben, Alpert, Juliete, Desmond, or the ship that's lurking off the coast. Yet, Jack is flying over the ocean and looking for the island with maps?? It looks like Jack will continue to not ask the most logical questions that anybody with half a brain would ask. I'm just wondering how the writer's are going to pull it off, and expect us to buy it.

There are several possibilities. Let's say Jack doesn't know how Juliet and Ben etc got on the island, and let's say only Jack and Kate (and maybe a few other Losties) get off the island (we have no idea so far who git rescued, and we don't know when the rescue was) - how could he know? While he's on the island he had no idea that it's not easy to find the island. He could have noticed that later, after the rescue, but then it was too late. And for example even if Jack knew about Mittelos etc, maybe they simply don't exist anymore, or they don't want to be found (Juliet hadn't heard of them before either, right?). He could have also already tried to contact Mittelos, Dhama etc, but they simply didn't give him anything.
You cannot expect to ask them some of the questions that we would because we know the background but they don't. From the view of most of the Losties they simply crashed on an island, and nobody found them so far or they stopped looking (ok with what Naomi said it got strange, but who knows if she told them the truth). Sure, the island is strange, but why ask how you get on the island if you just don't know that it's not easy to find?

Welcome to the lage, TheKeyIsLocke. I am assuming we're going to have more flashforwards next season, so maybe Jack will find out about all that stuff in those? I can imagine that Juliet isn't going to tell much to anyone about her past, which is sad... But I'm sure eventually Jack will find out about Dharma, Mittelos, Widmore, etc...
