I just been reading a magazine that has a section called "12 thing you didn't know about LOST". Can you tell me how true these ones are?

1. Many of the show's writers have some kind of degree in sociology to assist in the interactions of the characters.

2. When these brilliant writers decided on whom to concentrate on for the back story they drew three names out of a hat!

1. well, we are all heavily educated, but i think the original criteria was that we were good writers, period.

2. about a year ago, while the pilot was being shot, there was a group of writers working on developing the series under damon and jj's guidance, myself included, we did indeed pick three names out of a hat and each of the writers had to brainstorm on the backstories for the characters -- and for that time, that writer was sort of "the keeper" of that character. that was very early on, much of the character makeup has changed since then, but a lot of things went on to become part of the greater mythology of the show.
