I have the Best Buy Advertisement for tuesday in my hand and there is NO Bonus Disk Available. I believe the only way to get the bonus disk is to buy the Blu-Ray Version. On the Blu-ray Disk it says 8 hours of Bonus Features THAT SUCKS!!! If anybody has any information different than mine please post. PLEASE!

Regular Disks 39.99 Best Buy and it's 34.99 at Circuit City
Blue ray Disks 64.99 Best Buy :drowsy:

Is it worth it? (bonus disc)

The set is $38.87 U.S. dollars at Wal-Mart.

Circuit City sells at $34.99 U.S. dollars.

OH YEA!!

Goody for Walmart! The price is $38.87 so - yes probably has a bonus disc. Walmar was the cheapest last year but had no bonus disc. Best Buy was more expensive but had the bonus disc.

All I know - I CAN'T WAIT!!

Thank goodness I read this thread, I was going to buy the dvd from best buy. But if walmart has the bonus disc it is worth paying more. Hopefully canadian walmarts will also carry the bonus disc.

EDIT: I just looked up on canadian walmart website and they say that they do have a bonus disc. We won't get shafted!

Too bad Walmart is nowhere near where I live. No bonus disk for me this year. Or the previous 2 as they disappeared of the Best Buy shelves in stores near me before I was able to get there.

You are right that Canadian Wal-Mart it clearly indicates a Wal-Mart exclusive disc. Says 'Stunts and Special Effects Related Behind the Scenes Featrues & 2 Additional Deleted Scenes" Couldn't read the fine print below that.

The US site does not have that marker. :(

I think this is the bonus disc from play.com with the 2 deleted scenes and 3 extra lost on locations, its cool there will be a bonus disc but it'd be nice if they just put all the material on the actual set.

Is this season 3 dvd available at midnight tonight? I wanna make sure I get this bonus disc. :) I usually wait until later on in the day a new release comes out so I have no experience with this whatsoever. Do they put the dvd's out at midnight, or sometime later in the morning?

You should be able to get it at walmart at midnight, you could call and ask them to make sure though.

I just got back from my local Wal-mart and the people there have no idea about any Bonus Disc and they showed me the Lost Season 3 Box set the goes on sale tonight at midnight and it DID NOT have a yellow sticker that tells you it includes a Wal-Mart Exclusive Bonus Disc Inside, like in Canada. So it looks like it's just for Canada.

Come on East Coasters, anyone gone out to Walmart yet? I want to know from someone who actually bought it and got the extra disc. I can't go until after work and I can't get on the Fuselage at work, bummer. Hopefully someone will post soon. Thanks!

I also got mine today at Walmart with the bonus disc included. Looked like they were going fast, I only saw 2 others on the shelf.

ETA: Mine did have a yellow sticker on it saying Walmart Exclusive bonus disc.

Because of snow, I elected to get mine at W*Mart instead of Best Buy since it's closer. Guess Mother Nature was lookin' out for me :D Although I would have liked to put it on my Rewards Zone card.

Yes, I got the bonus disc as well. There was no sticker indicating that there would be one. It was priced at $44.99. Shelf was loaded. Competition is scarce up here where only the Green Bay Packers matter :p Of course it could also be that some people are holding off on purchasing the DVD's until they know the writers will get their fair share of the sale.

X-Posted from linear board:

FYI. I stopped at Walmart today and got my season 3 DVD set w/ bonus disc. The bonus disk has 3 stunts and special effects behind the scenes features, plus 2 additional deleted scenes, according to the disc. Also says the estimated run time is 15 minutes.

Big thank you to PhillyGirl for the heads up about the Bonus disc being at Walmart.;)

I just need to know if this Wal-mart bonus disc is the same as the Play.com we got here in the UK ;).

However, I don't understand why Asda here in the UK, which is part of the Wal-mart devision, didn't just give away the same bonus disc with their sets.

Here is a link to the menu screen:

http://dvdlost.blogspot.com/2007/10/season-3-bonus-disk.html

The Handcuff scene:

Kate is in the locker room in the season opener after having showered and put on the dress , and she is handcuffed. She uses the shampoo to try to lubricate her hands and get them through the cuffs. this fails. Then she hangs herself by the cuffs off the locker door, which breaks. And she falls on the floor in tears.

The Surprise Inside:
Sawyer is at the beach eating some Dharma snacks from the box. One handful turns out not to be treats, but a small Dharma prize (like cracker Jacks or cereal prize in the US), which is a ping pong ball.

Jennylee...I watched the bonus disc...

On Location:

The Cost of Living was bittersweet for me, because although it was interesting to see them filming Eko's Smokey death scene and see Eko's stunt double, there was nothing with Adawale (except for aired epi segments).

Enter 77 was pretty cool because it was narrated (on screen, too) by Mikhail's actor, and he has a great sense of humor.

The deleted scenes were ho-hum (which maybe is why they were deleted, LOL)...

12-12-2007, 10:19 PM
Thanks Tabs, I located them on youtube, cough cough.

Yeah, I noticed the conspicuous absence of AAA in that footage as well. Not around that day because it was only his double? Not into providing extra commentary? Didn't feel like being interviewed after he was off the show? But I thought the info about the filming was very cool.

I liked the DOC one as well, nice to hear Yunjin's take on it. Interesting that she considers that ep the first time Sun bonded with another female character - um, Kate anyone?

TabbyRasa
12-12-2007, 10:23 PM
Yeah, LOL...

I may watch an epi or 2 after tucking in tonight (just to see them in good definition, and
just cause), but I'm probably too tired. I just hope all my discs are good (unlike Season
1 where a crucial epi never played...grrrrr)....
100%
Oh, back to Adewale...I think he was just "done with LOST" when he decided to leave and left...and (speculating) maybe TPTB weren't all that fired up to get him to do any promotion...

But dang...one second of seeing him onscreen and I miss him again so much. :(
100%
Jennylee...seeing those snippets of Eko on the bonus disc makes me think I'll be happier to set aside my newly acquired Season 3 DVD and rewatch Season 2...

And pondering that...it's true (to me) of all 3 seasons that you really can't go back and rewatch them and have the same experience. There's no replacement for experiencing the "WTF" the first time...

You are so right, there is no getting that back. I'm still sad that someone spoiled the S3 finale for me. I had given up spoilers a month beforehand, and someone (a poster I actually like and respect) discussed the flashforward in the previews thread. I'm really still disappointed that happened. :frown: And now I hear they describe the flashforward right in the liner notes for TTLG - crazy!

It would have to be whichever episode the ping pong table reappears in for the tournament, or just before.Enter 77 sounds about right in the timeline.

And the way that they filmed the stunts for Eko's death scene was pretty cool! An awful lot of work for about 30 seconds of finished scene!

YunJin's commentary was cool as well--and I thought the same thing--she certainly seemed to have some bond with Kate. But I guess she was saying that from her perspective as the actress, this was the first really emotional bond she had with another female character. Perhaps because there had been so much conflict with Juliet leading up to that moment when she is able to confirm paternity, and then is utterly vulnerable and honest with her emotions, perhaps for the first time since she arrived on the island. .

OMG!! They do give you the snake in the mailbox on the liner notes! That is so sad.

I have never looked at the booklet for any of the seasons in any detail. They never seemed to offer anything but a playlist of sorts. And I've seen all the episodes, so I don't need the plot synopses.

But if you purchased these as a new fan, someone who hadn't seen everything, or received it as a gift--well, why ruin the finale??

This is so puzzling to me. Darlton supposedly supervise all Lost related peripherals--they go on and on about it in the segment about the figurines. But they let the finale be spoiled on the DVD liner notes?

I'm sorry for not being clear enough about what I'd meant to say.
That link leads to a site listing some of the bonus features on the season three DVD set and their British classification.
The one easter egg on the Play.com- / Walmart-bonus disc was listed among these:
