I'll Be There For You!

This is Just like friends only played with the Losties. Its Off Island, crash never happened, Don't have to do Friends Plots but stay true to Characters. (I.E. Gunther/Boone is in love with Rachel/Shannon but she has no Idea, Jack/Ross has all his girl friends and wives. ect ect, Sawyer/Chandler is snarky)

Characters not here can be brought in as any randoms. It all fits pretty well, but if you have a request to change someone let me know :)

For Friends Addicts like me this is a dream come true! And ships dont have to stay cannon to Friends. But obviously Jack/Kate cant work as Monica and Ross are siblings.

This will be fun & Laid back and Just kinda randomly awesome.

This wont have much Friends cross-over its mainly us playing the Losties in place of the Friends. Lost Carry over is expected, like Hurley's Dude & Joey's How You Doin, and that sort of thing, Also there is no big plot to achieve its kind of just for fun, so you don't have to post tons or anything :)

And So It Begins.

I talked to sjb on MSN and he supplied me with several diffrent ideas, and this is what we came up with.

IT will start *much* like (not exactly like) the Friends Pilot. Kate/Monica Sawyer/Chandler and Hurley/Joey and Libby/Phoebe at Central Perk and Ross/Jack and Shannon/Rachel Come in later.

Once we fo the meeting we will do a time jump to get things going!! I'll be back later but for now.

Commence!! And Have Fun!

It was still raining when Libby stepped into her favorite coffee shop, Central Perk, her raincoat and guitar case heavy with rain. She scanned the tables, searching for the friends she was supposed to meet up here, and spotted the little group over in the corner. Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley were there, with Jack nowhere in sight. She wasn't surprised with the absence of Jack, there was enough going on in his life right now.

Dripping wet, Libby hurried over to the group, nearly bumping into one of the tables and spilling a man's coffee along the way. She set down her guitar, and flung back the hood of her coat, grinning around at all her friends.

"I wrote three new songs for tonight," Libby said, removing her coat and -- after looking around for a moment -- hung it on the back of one of the chairs. "Two are about my mother's death, and the other is about this old shoe I found outside my apartment last week."

Still smiling, she sat down on the chair she had set her coat, crossing her legs and reviewing the group.

"Oh, did I interupt something?"

((LMAO, you don't know how hard it was to write this thing. I tried to emulate Libby and Phoebe into the same character, and had the added bonus of trying to start off an RPG. Hope it's okay, guys!))

(OOC - Ok I'll try again... I read the first post and S_M says some carry-over is expected. I'll use Sawyer's nickname's as normal. It'll basically just be an interesting mix of the two people... ;) )

I think the Losties are actually supposed to take the lives of the characters. Because it wouldn't make sense if Chandler was a con man, would it? I think it would be best to combine both the Losties and the Friends personality into one. I've only posted as Libby once, so I really haven't gotten used to her combination yet. :lol:

ETA: I guess Tabbiner came to the same conclusion as I.

It might just be that Jack is an easier fit with Ross. *evil wink* As I don't see as many inherent problems with combining them.))

Sawyer

The three of them were sitting comfortably on the couch they always used; just chatting, as usual, about nothing in particular.

Hurley and Kate were probably talking about something, though not likely important; but Sawyer wasn't really paying attention anyway as he blurted something out. He'd been wondering about it for the last couple of minutes for whatever reason.

Silence ensued...until Libby entered the scene and scuffled over to them, dripping wet. Sawyer noticed she had her guitar with her again. When did she NOT have it with her? He opened his mouth to ask what the name of her newest new songs were but she spoke before him...

"You OK Sawyer?" she asked laughing when he suddenly snapped out of his reverie with a random comment:

Kate just looked at him, her eyebrows raised, half a smile on her face. She decided not to say anything. Kate mouthed, to the man sitting there.

She opened up her guitar case in a flash, pulling out the instrument and readying it on her lap. Very quickly, she strummed a few of the strings, to make sure it was still in tune. Libby had been practicing only this morning, so it still was. She smiled, positioning herself in the chair again, clearing her throat as she did so.

"I call this," she said, lowering her voice. "'The Shoe Song'."

Libby lowered her eyes down to her guitar, and then began to violently strum the strings, singing:

"It was a bright and sunny day,
And I went out to play,
But something was in my way..."

Tapping her foot on the floor three times, before continuing:

"It was a... SHOE!
I tripped over it but I was okay,
Then I picked it up and threw it away,
Because it made my day turn astray,
But then I hit poor Jean Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet,,
(Who is this weird guy in my building),
And I had to run away
'Cause if I'd stay,
I'd have to pay,
(Because it looked like he was bleeding).

She ended the song on a loud note, thrusting her finger down on the strings with all her strength, causing a loud screaching sound throughout the room. Looking up from the song, she continued to smile, nodding to all of her friends.

"I know, it rocked."

((Libby reminds me more of Phoebe than Libby, LOL.))

Jack entered the Central Park Coffee Shop with a harried look on his face. As soon as he saw his sister and his friends, he rushed over and stood in front of them, not noticing that Libby had her guitar.

"Okay, guys. I've got the Spinal Surgeons of America conference dinner tonight, and I need to know which tie I should wear. I've narrowed it down to this..." He held up a red stripy tie to his neck. "This..." He held up a dark bow tie. "Or this..." Which was a dark blue paisley. "Where's Shannon? I want to get her opinion, she's into fashion. But...which do you think? Which is the biggest chick magnet? Which says 'Date me'." He proceeded to hold each tie up to his neck in quick succession, in a decidedly OCD way. The words 'chick magnet' sounded funny coming out of Jack's lips, especially since his romantic track record was pretty disastrous.

Then he paused, noticing Libby for the first time.

"Awh...Libby. Did I miss a song?" He gave her an earnestly apologetic look.

Shannon hurried towards the doors of the coffee shop with a big grin on her face, five shopping bads in her hands. Pushing through the door she ran right past Boone who was staring at her again, he had dropped a cup of coffee he was serving earlier. Weirdo.

She rushed right past him and around the couch in front of her friends and grinned,

" Guess whaaat" she asked in a squealy voice " Wait..." She stared at Jack and his Red striped tie " You're not going to wear that right?" she asked with a skeptical look on her face.

"Oh, heh. Lemme see..." He acted like he had no clue who it was. "Is it...Princess Leia?"

"Ha!" She laughed hitting his arm playfully, "You wish Sawyer Ford!" She rounded the couch and sat squeezed up next to Sawyer, shoving Hurley to the side.

Leaning over to give him a kiss and then ordered a cappuccino. She sat sipping it when Jack came in asking about some lecture thing. She was about to answer him on how hideous the one tie was when Shannon came in all smiles and with a severe case of post shopping syndrome. She said it before Ana could, so she happily snuggled in close to Sawyer, watching all his friends as they did their normal thing.

Boone

Boone stood holding the customers cup of coffee as Shannon came flying into Central Perk. He looked up with a half smile on his face, watching her go past, and promptly dropped the cup of coffee over the other customer.

"Oh, erm, sorry, let me get you another one..."

He went back behind the counter, his mind now totally on Shannon, and how beautiful she looked tonight. He made another coffee and put a muffin on a plate, and went over to Shannon.

"hi, Shannon, here's your usual." He said smiling, getting in a little too close to her, and handing her the coffee and the muffin, the other customers now completely forgotten.

((OOC: Spud, that was beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes :p))

Kate

Kate smiled at Libby and clapped a couple of times, "That was beautiful Libbs." She laughed, looking round as the door swung open to reveal Ana-Lucia. Kate's face fell as Ana crept up to them, her finger on her lips, and put her hands over Sawyer's eyes.
Kate shuddered as Ana started to laugh:

Kate saw Boone coming over with a muffin and coffee for Shannon, again. She rolled her eyes then looked at her own empty coffee mug. "Uh, Boone? Can I get another latte? Boone? Hey!"

"hi, Shannon, here's your usual." He said smiling, getting in a little too close to her, and handing her the coffee and the muffin, the other customers now completely forgotten.


Kate stood with her hands on her hips, her lips pursed as Boone completely ignored her and handed Shannon her free coffee and muffin.

But before she could even play a chord, Jack came bustling over, three ties located on his person in some way. Libby stared openly, watching as he held up each of the ties in turn.

Shannon

She turned around to see Boone standing right infront of her holding a coffee and a muffin.

"hi, Shannon, here's your usual." He said smiling, getting in a little too close to her, and handing her the coffee and the muffin, the other customers now completely forgotten.

" Oh... Thanks" she smiled completely oblivious to him She set the muffin on the table in front of Hurley and sat on a stool sipping at her coffee. Libby perked up about Jack's ties then.

She gave a sympathetic smile "Aww hunny well of course you do" she grinned looking at the rest "You have such a... Unique fashion sense " she nodded and smiled at LIbby genuinely.

" Oh! oh!! I almost forgot!!" she set her coffee down going for her shopping bags excitedly. " So I was at Barney's and guess what I fouunnndd....." She didn't wait for a reply especially from Sawyer. She quickly whipped out a shoe box and opened in to revel genuine leather Armani Stilettos with red satin laces. Desmond walked in and out of the people along the pathway on the side of the road, trying as hard as he can not to hit anyone. At one point he hit someone, saying "Sorry, Brother" and continuing on his way. He saw a coffee shop close by and turned into it.

This might have to be the new hangout coffee place.

Desmond looked at the name of the shop.

Central Perk, I'll remember that, if the coffee here is any good.

He walked inside to see a nice looking place, a few chairs, a couch, and a blond girl singing to her friends about what seemed to be, a shoe?
He walked over and sat down at the counter. "I'll take a coffee please, brother." The man at the counter got the coffee ready, just as Desmond was about to receive his coffee a blond girl walked in, very beautiful, and Desmond noticed the man at the counter staring at her, and then dropping his coffee.

"Oh, erm, sorry, let me get you another one..."The man then grabbed a coffee and a muffin and walked over to the girl who just entered.

Service here isn't that great. Lets hope the coffee is.

Kate stood watching Shannon as she put her muffin down and started to drink her coffee, her big surprise seemingly forgotten.

"Shan? Surprise?" Kate said questioningly, laughing as Shannon's face filled with excitement again.

Shannon

" Oh! oh!! I almost forgot!!" she set her coffee down going for her shopping bags excitedly. " So I was at Barney's and guess what I fouunnndd....." She didn't wait for a reply especially from Sawyer. She quickly whipped out a shoe box and opened in to revel genuine leather Armani Stilettos with red satin laces. She squealed in delight and did a liltte jumpy sort of dance.

" They Were HALF off!!" she gawked showing off her prize.

Kate stepped a little closer and took one of the shoes out of the box, "Half off?" she said, examining them, "Soooo, how much were they?" Kate said as she put the shoe back in the box, giving Shannon one of her looks, eyebrows raised...

"Ha!" She laughed hitting his arm playfully, "You wish Sawyer Ford!" She rounded the couch and sat squeezed up next to Sawyer, shoving Hurley to the side.

Sawyer was then crammed between rolly polly and squeezy squeely. Not a very comfortable place.

"Oh... You bet Shiva. What guy wouldn't want that?"

Sawyer looked at Hurley with a 'kill me now' look on his face. He didn't expect Hurley to go though with it though, just hopefully to move over a little at least.


Leaning over to give him a kiss and then ordered a cappuccino. She sat sipping it when Jack came in asking about some lecture thing. She was about to answer him on how hideous the one tie was when Shannon came in all smiles and with a severe case of post shopping syndrome. She said it before Ana could, so she happily snuggled in close to Sawyer, watching all his friends as they did their normal thing.

"Hey, Huggy Bear." He began, referring to Ana. How do I get outta here for a minute? "I need to go to the bathroom, shimmy over a bit there will ya."

"Half off?" she said, examining them, "Soooo, how much were they?" Kate said as she put the shoe back in the box, giving Shannon one of her looks, eyebrows raised...

She saw the look and quickly closed the box sticking it back in a bag. She coughed and muttered in a completely inaudible garbled voice "aghegtwograghumhunfdreddollarsgarcough " She took a ip and gave her best innocent smile.

She noticed a good looking man walk in, he was older, maybe late 30s or early 40s. She watched him sit in a corner and order a coffee, nudging Kate.

"Oh Kate...Look over there" she raised an eyebrow taking another sip hoping to have the attention off of herself and her spending.

"Oh... You bet Shiva. What guy wouldn't want that?"

She rolled her eyes, patting his knee.

" He says This..." she said aloud to everyone and no one "but then we break up and two months later he's at my door...then in my bed hehehehehheheheh" she ended in the same annoying laugh, taking another sip of Cappuccino

The service here, well, i guess their is better. Desmond thought to himself as he decide to not bother with the coffee and leave the shop, and look for another.

I wish i could go back to the old coffee shop.

FLASHBACK

Desmond was sitting at a coffee shop, watching the soccer on the TV, right next to pool table. He had had a few coffee's and was pretty hypo. He liked this coffee shop because it was a coffee shop/bar, so he could get a beer as well if he wanted. Sitting on the chair watching the soccer, Desmond thought to himself.

It's so nice not to be disturbed.

He thought to soon, someone playing pool moved the cue back and hit him in the side of the head. Desmond quickly put down his coffee and stood up.

"Hey, watch it, brother." Then he got a look at the guy. The man was a bulky tank, tattoo's all down his arm's, bald and beer in hand.

"You got a problem, Pal" The man said to Desmond as Desmond stood their and stared.

"Nope, No Problems"

Desmond sat back down. But the man didn't stop. He walked up behind Desmond's chair and started choking him. Desmond couldn't breath, the mans grip was tight. His arm's swung around as he struggled to breath. Then he reached his hand out and grabbed the pool cue, and smacked the man over the head with it. The man released his grip on Desmond and stepped back. Desmond stood up and looked at him, cue in hand. The hit only mad the man angrier. He sprinted at Desmond and tackled him to the ground, punching at his face as Desmond lay there helpless as the cue had been knocked from his hand. Suddenly the punching stopped and the man was pulled off Desmond and thrown to the ground by the even bigger barkeeper.

"Both of you, out of my bar, your both banned, don't come back"

END FLASHBACK

Desmond stood up, and walked towards the door of the coffee shop.

Charlie / Frank Jr

Frank burst into the coffee shop, skidding across the floor and slamming into the counter. Looking around, he saw his sister sitting in her usual spot with her guitar, and he ran over to her, tripping over a pretty lady's foot as he went (Shannon!).

"Libby Libby Libby!!!" He came to a halt in front of her, his hands on his head in complete dispair.

"Have you seen Sawyer?!! I lost her!!!!!" He cried out.

Isabel/Alice


She was in a frenzy, she ran from the car Lesilee and Frank Jr. Jr. on her hips where is he!!

She spotted him in the window of His sister Libby's favorite coffee shop. She marched inside and started nagging at him.

" Charlie!! " she readjusted the two babies " What happened? I sent you to go buys us ice cream cones with baby Sawyer, and next thing I know you're running out like wild!!" she looked around, wait... " WHERES SAWYER!! " she screamed staring at Charlie " What did you do with our daughter??"

She hadn't even noticed the crowd of people seated around them. She was too much in mother panic mode.

She saw the look and quickly closed the box sticking it back in a bag. She coughed and muttered in a completely inaudible garbled voice "aghegtwograghumhunfdreddollarsgarcough " She took a ip and gave her best innocent smile.


"$100?! Are you kidding me, Shannon!" Kate closed her eyes in exasperation, then opened them again as Shannon nudged her in the ribs.

Kate looked at Shannon as she took another sip of her coffee, trying to take the attention off herself.

"Don't think you can get away from me that easily Shannon Rutherford, I-" Kate turned to look at the guy in spite of herself, recognising him instantly:

"Oh my God! Desmond?" Kate smiled as she walked over to the guy near the door..."Desmond! It is you! Oh my God it's so good to see you!" Kate said, throwing her arms around her old friend in a hug.

"Oh my God! Desmond?" Kate smiled as she walked over to the guy near the door..."Desmond! It is you! Oh my God it's so good to see you!"

"I'm sorry, do i know you?" Desmond looked surprised to see this girl come up and hug him.

" Sure Babe " she said scooting over to allow him to get up. Noting the man Shannon mentioned and smiled

"Have you seen Sawyer?!! I lost her!!!!!" He cried out.

" Charlie!! " she readjusted the two babies " What happened? I sent you to go buys us ice cream cones with baby Sawyer, and next thing I know you're running out like wild!!" she looked around, wait... " WHERES SAWYER!! " she screamed staring at Charlie " What did you do with our daughter??"

He stood staring at the couple; confusion painted his face.

"D'you say she? You got a baby girl named Sawyer?" He walked closer to them; he remembered Charlie, he was Libby's brother. "What kinda name is Sawyer for a girl? Are you tryin' to give future kids an excuse to tease her?" He looked at them inquisitively and then continued. "Well, You're off to a great start." He added with a smile.

"I'm sorry, do i know you?" Desmond looked surprised to see this girl come up and hug him.

"Desmond! It's me! Kate?!" Kate shrugged, embarrassed, "I'm sorry, I-I guess you don't remember me...Sorry again." Kate turned around and started to walk back to her friends, when Isabel rushed in, two of the babies on her hips, yelling her head off at Charlie.

"Woah! Guys! Hey! What is going on here!" Kate said, her hands on her hips, looking mostly at Libby. Everybody completely ignored her as Isabel started screaming at Charlie:


" Charlie!! " she readjusted the two babies " What happened? I sent you to go buys us ice cream cones with baby Sawyer, and next thing I know you're running out like wild!!" she looked around, wait... " WHERES SAWYER!! " she screamed staring at Charlie " What did you do with our daughter??"


Kate looked at Shannon, then to Ross, they both seemed struck speechless. Kate had a major urge to laugh, but thought better of it, seeing the look on Libby's face.

Libby / Phoebe

"Aww hunny well of course you do" she grinned looking at the rest "You have such a... Unique fashion sense." she nodded and smiled at Libby genuinely.

Libby nodded, not taking any offense to what she had just said. She knew she had a "unique" fashion sense already, even though she found it completely normal.

"I'd still go with the red one," Libby said, giving Jack a nod.

But before she could say another word, the front doors burst open and Charlie came rushing in, skidding across the floor and hitting the counter. Libby jumped a little, startled, and stared at her half-brother as he came rushing towards her, tripping over Shannon as he came rushing over.

Charlie / Frank Jr

"Libby Libby Libby!!! Have you seen Sawyer?!! I lost her!!!!!" He cried out.

Libby gasped, rather dramatically.

"You lost Sawyer?"

And then Isabel rushed in, the two other children balanced on her hips. For a small woman, she sure could carry a lot of weight.

Isabel/Alice

Charlie turned as Isabel came in, and his wife and sister started yeling at him. He put his hands over his ears and screwed his eyes shut until they stopped, at which point Sawyer piped up.

"D'you say she? You got a baby girl named Sawyer?" He walked closer to them; he remembered Charlie, he was Libby's brother. "What kinda name is Sawyer for a girl? Are you tryin' to give future kids an excuse to tease her?" He looked at them inquisitively and then continued. "Well, You're off to a great start." He added with a smile.

Charlie turned to him, a withering look on his face. "We named her after you, bloody doofus. Dur." Charlie huffed, turning back to the two women he so did not want to face right now...

Desmond didnt know what to say, the Kate Austen he used to know was a bit bigger then this young girl.

Kate turned around again as Desmond called after her

"Thanks, so do you, the uh, the beard really suits you!" Monica laughed as Desmond said quite simply:

Monica smiled at Desmond, then looked over at her friends, causing a scene, as usual, and said goodbye to Desmond. "I better go, looks like I'm needed over there! I'll see you around OK?"

Hurley

He'd been chatting merrily with Kate until Libby had come to perform her newest song. Then he heard a voice that made him shudder as he looked up to see Ana Lucia covering Sawyer's eyes.

As he was shoved aside, Hurley mouthed at Sawyer:

Suddenly the Central Perk was full of people around him making a fuss, everything just flew over his head, leaving him to say:

"Wait a second, what's going on?"

"Yeah of course, we will have to catch up sometime, maybe for coffee or something? I'd like to know what you have been up to?"

"I don't know, I can't remember where we were... we were just kinda, somewhere..." Charlie bit his lip, his hands on his head again in despair. "She's gone!!! We'll never find her, Is!!" He howled, grabbing his wife by the shoulders and shaking her slightly. "She's gonee!!!!!!!! Gone, gone, gone!!!"

Sawyer grabbed the man's shoulders.

"Take a breather man!" He breathed in and out slowly and dramatically to try and calm the guy down. "Gone as she may be, she gotta be somewhere...and we gotta at least look."

"Now, where do you suggest we start?" He didn't wait for a response before he gave his own thoughts. "Well, I s'pose we take it slow and just take a little step outside." Sawyer looked into Charlie's eyes to make sure he was being heard. "You with me Hobbes?"

Sawyer came and tried to Clam him down and tried to get him to think about it. Isabel sat down with the fidgeting Charlie Jr. Jr. and stared at Sawyer and her husband,

" Oh My Gawd! " every now and then, Soon a baby was on her lap and Isabel and Charlie were up by Sawyer screaming about Ice Cream.

She hugged the baby protectively, and kissed its Head

" Well Gooo!" she said waving her hand " Go on find Lil baby girl Sawyer.." she smiled at the way she said it " We'll watch these two " she smiled at them.

Hurriedly searching her pockets, before she pulled out the car's key, attached to a small pair of fuzzy dice. She grabbed Charlie with one hand and Isabel with the other, pulling them hastily towards the door, seeing as Ana Lucia volunteered to watch the other two children.

"Come on, guys, we've got to hurry!!!"

Jack/Ross:

" Guess whaaat" she asked in a squealy voice " Wait..." She stared at Jack and his Red striped tie " You're not going to wear that right?" she asked with a skeptical look on her face.

"Shan, I was wanting to - "Jack's face crumpled a bit, and he looked defensive. "What's wrong with it? Too gay? Libby liked it." He shoved the tie into his pocket though, and then pondered the two choices he had left.

"hi, Shannon, here's your usual." He said smiling, getting in a little too close to her, and handing her the coffee and the muffin, the other customers now completely forgotten.

Jack looked over at Boone and gave him the evil eye. He was always hanging around Shannon, acting all stalker-like. Was he the only one who could see that Boone had some kind of unhealthy obsession with her?

"Hello? Hello?" He snapped his fingers repeatedly. I was here before Shannon. Where's my cappucino and muffin. Huh?" Then he amended his order. "Only...I want a long black and an eclair instead." Then he noticed Kate looking annoyed. "And serve my sister first. Sheesh! You do not want to make her angry."

Jack rolled his eyes at Kate, and then put his hand on his hip when his sister encouraged her and was ignoring his problem with the ties and giving all of her attention to Shannon. "Well, gee. But Kate's attention was now on some guy over by the door and she'd gone over to hug him. He looked familiar, actually.

Then everyone was wondering what was going on with Charlie and Isabel. It seemed as though some domestic was happening in the middle of the coffee shop. Jack didn't know what to say, since it was so public.

Libby: "Sawyer's outside!?" she screamed, shaking him more. "You left her outside!? It's raining outside!! She probably got flushed into the sewers or something... What if the CHUD got her, did you ever think of the CHUD!?"


Jack tried to calm down her down, since she was screaming about giving babies away.

"Libb..." But it was no use. So he just awkwardly patted her shoulder.

Then when he realised they were going on a search, he completely forgot about his tie dilemma.

"Ooooh! A search and rescue?? I'll man the cellphone here. This can be command central. I'll coordinate the search, and write down the places we've covered. Maybe set up a white board with a map of the city. Everyone synchronize their watches."

"I'd like that." Kate smiled, then took a pen and piece of paper out of her purse, she leaned on the wall next to her and quickly scribbled down her number, handing him the piece of paper. "Call me, OK?"

Kate hugged him again, then went to sit back down with everybody else, sitting on the couch as she heard Jack saying:

Were Kate Austens words as she handed Desmond her number. He took the paper and thanked her.
"Yeah, of course."
She walked over back to her friends, and Desmond left the coffee shop staring at the number on the paper. He walked back to his apartment and threw his stuff on the ground, but he kept the number, and placed it next to the phone. Then he lay down on his couch, grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, not really watching it, still thinking about his encounter with little Kate Austen.

Shannon/Rachel

Jack/Ross:



"Shan, I was wanting to - "Jack's face crumpled a bit, and he looked defensive. "What's wrong with it? Too gay? Libby liked it."

Shannon took another sip of coffee trying to avoid commenting on his last question.

"Hello? Hello?" He snapped his fingers repeatedly. I was here before Shannon. Where's my cappucino and muffin. Huh?" Then he amended his order. "Only...I want a long black and an eclair instead." Then he noticed Kate looking annoyed. "And serve my sister first. Sheesh! You do not want to make her angry."

" Oh Come on Jack! " she said annoyed "Give him a break, he doesn't have anyone else here to help him--" She nodded " I know how hard this job can be "

Jack saw her shoes and went into another one of his tantrums

"The Ice Cream Shop?" Libby asked, turning back to Isabel. "If that's where you think she is, let's go! We can all go in my taxi cab, I think I have the keys here somewhere..."

Isabel was being dragged out of the shop by her wrist along with Charlie and Sawyer.

She craned her neck thanking Ana for watching the babies before they ran out into the rainy streets.

" Where;s the cab!!?" she asked trying to stay under the awning.

Sawyer/Chandler

He went outside to help find himself... Or rather, baby Sawyer.

"It's too bad I don't got an umbrella. Sun's a beast today."

Isabel/Alice

" Chud!?????" She was in panic mode "WHATS CHUD??"

"Beats me Mamacita. Though comin' from Libbs, I figured it was an evil spirit of some old tormented cat. But I could be wrong."

The rain continued to pelt them.


" Where;s the cab!!?" she asked trying to stay under the awning.

Sawyer stuck his fingers in his mouth and whistled for a cab...

...and when it came near, the license plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought now forget it, yo home to Bel-air! Do-do-da-doo-doo! Ok, wait a sec what's going on here?

He'd gotten a little side-tracked.

The taxi was stopped right in front of him by then so he opened the door and held out his arm for Charlie.

"Ladies first." Almost immediately after, he spoke again. "How far's this place anyways? Do we even need a taxi?"

Shannon/Rachel

She narrowed her eyes, " Ok." she said "Wear the red one. I was only telling you not to because i didn't want you to look good " she lied with a devious look on her face. Jerk.

Jack stared at her for a moment and then pulled out the tie again and looked at it. "Really? Okay. Hey, I really appreciate it, Shann, you do know fashion after all. And I -- admittedly-- am so totally hopeless with that kind of thing. I have to do the key note speech for the dinner and well...hopefully at least I'll look the part."

His question was finally answered even if no one had actually spoken to him.

"Isn't there like, some place you can go where they keep lost babies?" He looked around at everyone, waiting for them to congratulate him on his genius idea.

In the mean time, he looked towards Janice and the baby on her lap.

"Hey look at you... just sitting there, drooling and just being a baby. And you... sitting on her lap."

Grinning and looking over at Jack, nodding, finding his joke funny.

"Oh man. You gotta take the bow tie! It's so... Jackish!"

Jack looked over at Hurley, a look of incredulity in his expression. "Yeah. I'm sure they do. Probably in the same place they keep lost car keys, Brigadoon, and the pots of gold at the ends of rainbows." Hurley was a good buddy, but sometimes his ideas were just so...out there.

Oh, I don't know." He slumped onto one of the sofas looking overwhelmed and depressed by his choices. Choosing ties was such a burden. If he didn't get it right, the whole evening could be ruined, he'd never find a date, and never get laid again. Or worse, his speech would fall flat, and his fellows would mock and ridicule him behind his back. He tried to hold back tears of frustration. But it was so hard sometimes to be Jack. "Kate, you never weighed in. You may be my last and only hope to make a decision."

Kate looked at Jack and put her head in her hands, laughing at him. She fished inside her purse until she found her cell phone. then tossed it to Jack, "Use mine," she said exasperatedly.

"Thanks sis. You're a doll." Jack replied, catching the phone deftly. His eyes lit up when he looked at it, his woebegone look disappearing and being replaced with geeky excitement. "Ooh, is this a Razor? Cool."

She seemed a little put out, actually. Maybe he really had hurt her feelings. The more Jack thought about it, the more he wondered if trusting Hurley's judgment and his sister's was a wise thing to do when it came to fashion. Shannon wouldn't be so petty as to try to sabotage his chances for a date, would she?

"No, you're right. The red one's a little more snazzy at least." He agreed, pulling out the tie and starting to put it on. "Color's good, right?"

" Well, I got my self a date " she looked over at Jack "With a fireman" she said in a way she knew would set him off. And was very happy to do so.

Jack had tried not to listen in on the conversation. It was none of his business anymore. But he couldn't help but be curious, and just a little jealous of whomever this guy was who was making Shannon laugh, and beam a smile like that.

A fireman? So he probably worked out, and was tall and...husky. And had a deep voice and looked good with soot on his face. Jack never looked good in soot, or in bright yellow.

"Well, Shannon. Good for you." He said in a quiet, slightly hurt voice. "It's great you're getting out there. Making yourself available. I mean, we never...things didn't work out, so...moving on is the best thing for the both of us. Getting right back on that horse, jumping back into the saddle, or... whatever riding analogy you want to use. Maybe I should ask someone to come to the dinner. Maybe I should ask Libby if she's doing anything tonight."

Libby / Phoebe

It took Isabel and Charlie a moment to realize that they were being pulled away. Libby was nearly at the door now and, seeing how her hands were occupied, she reached up with her foot and kicked the door open, so there was enough room for them to squeeze through. That did not stop Isabel from giving one more outcry before leaving, however:

Sawyer/Chandler

"No, Sawyer..." Libby said, shaking her head, letting go of her half-brother and his wife and looking around for her cab. "CHUD are the cannabalistic humanoid underground dwellers that roam underneath the streets of Manhattan eating orphans. That's why we have to hurry... one of the CHUD might mistake Sawyer -- little Sawyer, not you Sawyer -- for an orphan and eat her."

"Where's the cab!!?" she asked trying to stay under the awning.

"Hm?" Libby asked, eyes wide. "Oh, that's right! I walked to the coffee shop today. I guess my cab is at my apartment, but that's kinda far away from here..."

Luckily, Sawyer was smart enough to whistle, and another cab came speeding up to the sidewalk. He opened the door, motioning for Charlie to get in with him. Libby turned to look at Isabel, and then started towards the two men.

"Ladies first." Almost immediately after, he spoke again. "How far's this place anyways? Do we even need a taxi?"

"Thanks, Sawyer," Libby said, squeezing into the backseat and motioning for the rest of them. "Oh, and Mr. Cabman?" She tapped on the window seperating the back seat from the front. "I drive a cab too, so, y'know, give me the ol' Cabbie discount, okay?"

Flashing her pearly whites at the guy in the front.

She looked around at everybody, "Somebody has to stay here with a cell, in case Libby and the others get back, or find baby Sawyer..." She said matter-of-factly, looking pointedly at Shannon with a half smile on her face before looking back to Jack with her hand held out.

"Cell, please!"

Desmond/Richard

Staring closely at the number on his bed-side table, Desmond couldn't stand it anymore, even though he had been sitting there staring at it for just minutes, it seemed like hours. Desmond thought for a second, before calling the number.

It rang about 8 times before the message came on, and Desmond was annoyed that he didn't get Kate herself. So he just left a message on her machine.

"Hi, Kate. I was just wondering if you would like to catch up for that coffee? Call me back and we can discuss a time. Thanks"

Thats all i can do. Desmond thought. Its up to her now.

She looked at him, suddenly bombarded by an awkward silence. She cleared her throat and sat forward taking a large gulp of coffee to preoccupy her mouth. She was thinking over what she could say when Hurley spoke up

Kate turned around and leant against the couch. "I changed my mind, I think I'm gonna head back home. I wanna clean the kitchen today."

She looked around at everybody, "Somebody has to stay here with a cell, in case Libby and the others get back, or find baby Sawyer..." She said matter-of-factly, looking pointedly at Shannon with a half smile on her face before looking back to Jack with her hand held out.

"Cell, please!"

She looked up at Kate and nodded,

"Yea..sure...cause you know..." She pointed at Kate and in perfectly straight faced, tone said "I cleaned it last time" Pointing at herself now "...soooo...it needs that Kate touch" she winked and smiled, Then looked back at Hurley.

(OOC - I thought we had the Friends' jobs...? Or can we have whichever we choose. lol, who'd wanna be friends with a con artist!? ROFL! He's probably just conning you! :rolleyes: )

He opened the door of the cab and was waiting for Charlie, Isabel, and Libby to get in. Libby was very much on her toes but the other two were not in a big hurry...even though their CHILD was missing!

Libby / Phoebe

"Thanks, Sawyer," Libby said, squeezing into the backseat and motioning for the rest of them. "Oh, and Mr. Cabman?" She tapped on the window seperating the back seat from the front. "I drive a cab too, so, y'know, give me the ol' Cabbie discount, okay?"

Flashing her pearly whites at the guy in the front.

Sawyer couldn't wait and got in after Libby.

"How could I have forgotten you're a cabbie Libbs?" He shook his head and looked out to the other two. "Come on Hansel and Gretel, get in here! This kid aint gonna find herself!"

He raised his eyebrows. "That guy at the museum who asked me to take off my shirt coz he thought the saw a tumour..."

He trailed off.

I am gonna have to pull out of this one now... until I come back from my trip. It is less than 10 days till I go now, so I am stressed and frantic and haven't really got time for more than one RP. I was gonna have to pull out when I left anyway, so I have just brought it forward, LOL!!

Hurley/Joey
"Going so soon?" He asked. "Well I guess we'll see you later then."

Kate smiled and waved, walking past them and out into the street, daydreaming.

When she got back to the apartment she hung up her coat carefully by the door, then dropped her purse on the couch. She hit the button on her phone and heard the answer machine click as she went to the kitchen cupboard and took out her rubber gloves and cleaning products.


"Hi, Kate. I was just wondering if you would like to catch up for that coffee? Call me back and we can discuss a time. Thanks"


Kate stopped, grinning widely as she carefully took off her rubber gloves and walked over to the phone. She picked it up and dialled the number, waiting for Desmond to answer the phone.

Desmond

Desmond had been sitting by the phone, waiting for a call from Kate,Then the phone rang. He sat up and answered it within the first ring. "Hello, this is Desmond" Hoping to hear Kates voice on the other end of the line.

Kate/Monica

Kate held the phone close to her ear, and waited for Desmond to pick up. He answered on the first ring:

Desmond

"Hello, this is Desmond"

Kate smiled as she heard his voice, "Hey, Des it's Kate! uh, you left me a message? I'm free tomorrow if you want to grab that coffee? Is that OK? Where do you want to meet?" Kate stopped talking, realising she had been babbling, and bit her lip, waiting for him to speak.

Desmond/Richard

Hey, Des it's Kate! uh, you left me a message? I'm free tomorrow if you want to grab that coffee? Is that OK? Where do you want to meet?"

"Tomorrow, how about lunch time. Central perk? Is that OK with you?

He grabbed up his cell and started typing a message to his secretary. Gladus, cancel my 1o'clock.

At Sawyers not so sensative promptings they piled in teh cab behind Libby and Sawyer.

"To The Um....Bleaker street Ice cream place.. You know.. the one with the kids plcae thing the .. the Slides!!" Charlie said

Isabel sighed patting his knee and leaned up speaking to the cabbie

"Papa Joe's Ice cream shop" she said "and Fast" he voice was sharp, and commanding.

Kate/Monica

Kate sat on the edge of her seat, held the phone with one hand and whipped out her diary with the other.

Desmond/Richard

"Tomorrow, how about lunch time. Central perk? Is that OK with you?



Monica smiled and grabbed a pen off the side, scribbling it down as she said: "That sounds great! I guess I'll see you there then!"

She put down the phone, picked up her rubber gloves and continued cleaning, a huge smile on her face.

"Papa Joe's Ice cream shop" she said "and Fast" he voice was sharp, and commanding.

They were all crammed in the back seat, four of them... It wasn't his favorite place on the Earth. It was nice to be with friends, but this was VERY close.

The cabbie nodded to Libby about her discount thing but looked confused about 'Papa Joe's Ice Cream Shop.' He stayed on the spot looking at them for five seconds before replying.

"Oh, you mean P-JICS." He turned back around and started driving toward 'Papa Joe's Ice Cream Shop.' "At least that's what I always called it."

Sawyer stared at the man for a good minute before snapping out of it and breaking his silence.

"So... Even if we don't find the kid, at least we can get an ice cream while we're there." He looked around. "Y'know, just to lighten the mood a little."

OOC: Having to drop all my RP's sorry for the inconvenience everyone. Jack/Ross is up for grabs. This is such a fun concept, I'll try to keep up reading it at least. :biggrin: ))
