View Full Version : Guilty pleasures, anyone?
Inhaler Thief 03-14-2005, 03:11 PM Anyone here got a guilty pleasure? Anything you wouldn't tell your friends or anything. xD It can be anything, really! Feel free to share it if you want, but if you're not comfortable with doing it, that's fine. =3
<3
Mine?
Listening to 80's love songs and whatnot while I drink my vanilla coke. XD I also sleep with my sock moneky and blankets from when I was but a small child, like, 2. I'm almost 18. XD Muwahahaha! No shame.
Hope everyone has a good day. <3
lostfan88 03-14-2005, 07:10 PM My gulity pleasure is watching The Ashlee Simpson show because it's both pathetic and funny that she doesn't realize that she can't sing. :( Poor child...
:lol2:
CapnHuFlungDu 03-14-2005, 07:14 PM Mine is watching those plastic surgery shows, that is so nasty...but I can't seem to turn away! :lol2:
Inhaler Thief 03-14-2005, 07:18 PM Mine is watching those plastic surgery shows, that is so nasty...but I can't seem to turn away!* :lol2:
Oh dude, me too! XD
The reality show, Dr. 90210, I don't watch...but I do watch Nip/Tuck, which is pretty graphic. XD
chelslyn 03-14-2005, 08:34 PM my GPs:
MTV- I was deprived for a long time. My mom thought it was too evil. But now it's like the only channel I watch- that and LOST.
I love all the horrible Reality crap shows. I know they suck, But hey, stupid people are entertaining.
Eating in my Bed- I hate that I do this, But I do it.
Sweedish fish- My love of these little yummies has gone so far that I have given them up for Lent and I'm not even Catholic.
Aurora10 03-14-2005, 11:34 PM Watching reality shows...and....um...I'll think of more. lol
Templeton 03-15-2005, 06:03 AM I'm ashamed to admit...but for me it's the lastest bizarre details on the Michael Jackson trial.
Templeton
BurningStar4 03-18-2005, 05:18 AM I have a thing for Edward Scissorhands
lostfan88 03-18-2005, 03:11 PM *gasp* I love Edward Scissorhands! I saw a nifty Edward tin lunchbox at one of those "classic" stores. It had all kinds of goods that we considered classics: famous actors, Betty Bop, Elvis, and I guess now Edward Scissorhands is considered a classic.
BurningStar4 03-18-2005, 03:13 PM Oooo I want that... I have the Edward Scissorhands poster above my bed :)
lostfan88 03-19-2005, 12:21 AM I have a Jack Sparrow poster above my bed. :)
I think Orlando Bloom is another one of my gulity pleasures. :-\ Sometimes he has such cheesy lines but I love it anyway.
prittygurl03 03-19-2005, 01:25 AM Hmmm, guilty pleasure...probably watching "Anchorman." I hated that movie, but I love some of the quotes in it. Brick's my favorite.
Oh I also love watching the first season of Buffy (before they had the money for all the special effects). Some of the stuff is so cheesy, but that's one of the greatest shows in my book.
BurningStar4 03-19-2005, 06:08 AM I have a guilty pleasure of watching terrible/cheesy movies (like one's that are so bad they are on Mistery Science Theater 3000)
Ms Demeaner 03-20-2005, 05:56 PM My guilty pleasure would be "Newlyweds" with Nick and Jessica. I keep waiting for him to kill her. I know, if he does kill her I won't hear about it on their show...but I would kill her if I were him.
lostfan88 03-20-2005, 09:44 PM
I actually kinda admire his patience. If I was him, there's only so many times I could stand her stupid comments, which are probably most likely for attention.
bearlover2 03-20-2005, 09:51 PM Not really a 'guilty' pleasure but I am addicted to reading mysteries! :) I guess I should also include this message board as a guilty pleasure since a lot of time I sneak on after my husband has left for work! :-[
Most people in RL know me as the "smart" girl who is also a smart alec. They think I don't care about clothes, my hair, shoes, etc. but I love being a "girly-girl."
Aurora10 03-21-2005, 12:51 AM I can't believe that I forgot to mention this one: celebrity gossip. :lol2: I love it! I love entertainment magazines and all of those entertainment shows.
Ms Demeaner 03-21-2005, 01:05 AM Aurora, I'm with you on that one. I only buy those magazines for plane trips, though.
islandchica 03-21-2005, 01:12 AM I can't believe that I forgot to mention this one: celebrity gossip.* :lol2: I love it! I love entertainment magazines and all of those entertainment shows.
Oh me too!
well, this is obvious but I guess I'd have to say that my main guilty pleasures are LOST, (I just can't get enough and my family thinks I'm crazy for it) and the Fuselage! (I think I spend like, 2 hours on here a day)
fanofangel 03-21-2005, 03:07 AM guilty pleasures.............................

lostfan88 03-21-2005, 12:32 PM guilty pleasures.............................
A Walk to Remember (I've seen it at least 50 times. I have a thing for Shane West
I was obsessed with that movie and Shane West in 8th grade. Shane's amazing on ER.
CapnHuFlungDu 03-21-2005, 09:12 PM Yeah I'm also with G on that one, I spend a lot of time obsessing over the perfect outfits and shoes. And looking up where to order some over the net. I just bought some new spring shoes yesterday. So I'm happy for this week. :P Awful, I know.
I'll also read fanfiction that's way too fluffy. I don't know why I do it. I wish I could stop myself.
fanofangel 03-22-2005, 01:26 AM I was obsessed with that movie and Shane West in 8th grade. Shane's amazing on ER.
God, I'm 47 years old, that officially makes me pathetic. :(
theG - What's your definition of fluffy?
sifichick 03-22-2005, 01:42 AM I have quite a few guilty pleasures.
My biggest one is pajamas. I LOVE pajama pants sets. The cotton ones. Not the silky kind. They also have to have cute sayings on them. My fav ones are my Happy Bunny jammies.
I'm also a sucker for reality tv shows. I love TAR and Survivor.
I'm also a sucker for good bath products. I could spend hundreds of dollars at bath and body works. Although I try to widdle it down to about $50 a month.
I also love kitchen gadgets and bathroom gadgets. My newest aquirement is a shampoo brush which I LOVE. It gets your hair all lathery. :)
miss emme 03-22-2005, 04:54 AM I can't believe that I forgot to mention this one: celebrity gossip.* :lol2: I love it! I love entertainment magazines and all of those entertainment shows.
Oh Yeah!!! I can't go through the grocery checkout without buying the latest In Touch Magazine. And l'm also a pajama freak. When I go too Zellers or Walmart my favorite section is the sleepwear.
Denraeah 03-26-2005, 09:04 PM Guilty Pleasure..hm. I listen to the Backstreet Boys. lol *hangs her head in shame* I've been a fan since I was 12, sue me! hehe :) I also am addicted to Nightmare Before Christmas.
theG - What's your definition of fluffy?
If it has no set plot, people are OOC, all the while there's nothing but happiness and love .
Denraeah 03-26-2005, 09:09 PM Oh I hate that. It makes it all very very boring to me.
If it has no set plot, people are OOC, all the while there's nothing but happiness and love .
Thus it is my guilty pleasure.* I know I should hate those types of fics, but I can't stop reading!* It's terrible, and I'm quite ashamed* :blushing:.
fanofangel 03-26-2005, 10:25 PM Denraeah - I still love the BSB, there coming to Atlanta next month and I couldn't get tickets :'(
G - What is OOC?
fanofangel 03-26-2005, 10:37 PM I read a few B/A that were like that, the ones I read were pretty good though.
I mostly only get into B/A. The smotty ones get old though.
lostnlaguna 03-27-2005, 12:17 AM J. Crew & handbags. I can't get enough of either and I am an unashamed internet order addict of both. And oh yeah, the groceries are delivered because I don't do the supermarket thing. ;)
Rock Goddess 03-27-2005, 01:13 AM Let's see...shopping, I'm a shopping addict. Decorating - I'm always buying new things for my house, rearranging things I already have, and generally driving my boyfriend insane with it. ;) Luckily, I also get paid to do so in other people's houses, so I have an outlet for that guilty pleasure. Soap operas, pajamas...sitting around in pajamas on the occasional afternoon watching soap operas. And sadly, Oprah and Dr. Phil. I'm such a daytime tv junkie.
~ RG
fanofangel 03-27-2005, 01:35 AM And oh yeah, the groceries are delivered because I don't do the supermarket thing. ;)
I'm so jealous of that, I would love to have mine delivered.* ;D
Decorating - I'm always buying new things for my house, rearranging things I already have, and generally driving my boyfriend insane with it. ;)
I'm ashamed to admit I've lived in my house for 14 years and there are still many walls with no pictures. Just not into decorating.
lostnlaguna 03-27-2005, 01:44 AM Ya' know, it's really more economical I find. No impulse shopping & since I actually put thought (over days) into my order, I eat a lot more healthily. All that and no standing in line or traffic & parking hell. If you can swing it... do it. I'm looking for a launder now because I hate washing and folding clothes.
Rock Goddess 03-27-2005, 01:57 AM I'm ashamed to admit I've lived in my house for 14 years and there are still many walls with no pictures. Just not into decorating.
Nothing wrong with that - better than obsessive-compulsively changing things all the time. :lol2:
I thought of another one...coffee, I must have my caffeine fix in the morning.
~ RG
fanofangel 03-27-2005, 02:29 AM I wish the morning was the only time I needed my coffee. I like it at night too.
Rock Goddess 03-27-2005, 02:55 AM Oh, I like coffee all the time, but I've been trying to limit it mostly to the morning lately. I haven't been succeeding, but oh well. ;)
~ RG
Ms Demeaner 03-28-2005, 12:01 PM I love coffee, but I don't consider it a guilty pleasure. I think of it more like the source of life!
Denraeah 04-04-2005, 11:47 PM They are here *checks clock* tomorrow. lol :) I couldn't get tickets either. They sold out long before I even knew they were going to be in town. I'll catch them over the summer after the new album comes out though. :) Gods I sound like such a damn teeny bopper. hehe
Denraeah - I still love the BSB, there coming to Atlanta next month and I couldn't get tickets* :'(
sawyergirl2 04-05-2005, 12:00 AM Fanfic is great! Don't feel guilty about it theG! Sadly my guilty pleasure is Viva la Bam, *turns in shame* I know horrible, but stupid comedy really gets me *is it wrong of me to say I think it's funny when people hurt themselves? :blushing:*
I'm not ashamed I read fanfic--I'm ashamed I read bad fanfic.
Top 5 things I feel guilt doing, but enjoy...
5) Ignoring chores on Wednesday night.
4) Eating too many carbs.
3) Swimming for hours in the pool without sunblock.
2) Smoking menthol cigarettes.
and the number one thing...
1) Reading and posting at The Fuselage while at work!

I've read a few of those, but I really can't stand either of them enough. Monaboyd is my main thing, but sometimes, so long as one of them is in it, I'll read them with others. BilLijah is good.
Have you read The Identity Code?

I was playing without during Springbreak when I was home, but once I got to school I didn't have time or have my saved stuff, so by the time I got back home I kinda lost insterest. I started doing the back tracking stuff and haven't gotten too awful far.
Another GP- LJ flist, but I rarely remember to actually update myself.
juleyah 05-28-2005, 06:43 AM Anything chocolate... ice cream, bars, pralines...
