View Full Version : Have We Learned Anything New? New Expectations for S4?
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 06:54 PM I've done a bunch of these threads in the past. Thought I'd go ahead and start this one too. Don't know if the Canadians get to watch this show early, but if they do, they can use this thread.
Did the Recap show help us learn anything new? Did the Recap show set specific expectations for what we will see in 4x01 or for any of the 8 episodes?
Do NOT place spoilers in here. This is pure speculation based on information from the recap show and what we already know.
LL
beema 01-31-2008, 07:25 PM I never get anything out of the recaps. It's just more stalling if you ask me...
I guess they are good for people who aren't nutjobs like us and know everything about Lost. I doubt anyone on this forum really needs a refresher course in this show we love so much ;)
MrYaggin 01-31-2008, 07:25 PM Not that I can tell. It seemed like I had all the same questions directly after TTLG.
Jack Sawyer 01-31-2008, 07:33 PM I guess they are good for people who aren't nutjobs like us and know everything about Lost. I doubt anyone on this forum really needs a refresher course in this show we love so much
 That's surely true, but I definitely enjoy watching these clip shows. They're well put together, with narration, which is so much better than those annoying pop-ups last night (though I still enjoyed it). Anyways, looking forward to it.
Enjoy the show everyone!
Marcus Antonius 01-31-2008, 08:04 PM is that ME narrating?
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 08:05 PM So far, I am pleased that they showed the scene from Greatest Hits where Charlie met Claire. I like how it seamlessly can be added in to the footage of the original crash scene, the Tailie crash scene, and the view of the Others viewing the crash.
I'm also pleased that Charlie is not forgotten, right off the bat.
Also, they are showing Jack's FBs to Sarah. This is very uncommon for Lost recap shows. They usually focus on the island, since there is soooooo much to go over with the island.
Clearly, we are going to continue to focus a lot on Jack initially in S4.
100%
is that ME narrating?
Yes, he narrated the last one, too. I'm sure they used much of the same narration and added some more.
Okay, they showed Locke FBs too. Clearly he's a major focus off the bat too.
RubberDucky 01-31-2008, 08:17 PM who narrated the previous recaps? I don't think it was Ben before was it?
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 08:20 PM Michael Emerson did the last one.
I'm impressed with all the back story information. We got Kate's too, and even a little bit of Juliet's. They are really setting up the A Team hardcore. Not to mention the Quadrangle.
They showed a good bit of Claire pregnancy. They usually ignore her in these recaps, so that's great. I love Claire.
So far, next to nothing with Hurley, Jin, Sun, Sayid. I'm sure we'll get more....
And obviously they've gotten into the Others.
RubberDucky 01-31-2008, 08:24 PM you ask for Hugo you get Hugo
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 08:25 PM Seriously! Go me!
Wow, Hurley and Dave. This is big. Hallucinations will be seen. Hurley's back story will be explored.
And Charlie. Good, good.
Marcus Antonius 01-31-2008, 08:28 PM this is great, it's like season 3 in 1 hour! are we going to see Hurley's "incident" in the premiere tonight?!
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 08:29 PM Sawyer's back story.
I am really appreciating that they have FINALLY figured out how to mix the island story with the character story into a recap. That's what this show is about. BOTH.
RubberDucky 01-31-2008, 08:29 PM this is a pretty detailed recap
100%
stupid cabin scene - love it so much but we didn't really get anything out of it
Marcus Antonius 01-31-2008, 08:35 PM when they do revisit that cabin scene, it had better be AMAZING! (as im sure it will be)
imaaronsmom 01-31-2008, 08:38 PM This recap is very nice, but I'm glad I rewatched S3 over the weekend.
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 08:40 PM This is the best recap EVER.
Yayayay for back story on Charlie and Claire! I have so much hope for seeing Charlie again in a vision. His character will live on.
Poor Claire. sniff
ETA: Good Charlie stuff. Good Penny and Des stuff. Important reminder that the island was visible for a few moments when the sky turned purple.
RubberDucky 01-31-2008, 08:48 PM the guy in the promo that says "can't really say it is our primary objective"
who is the actor, because he looks familiar, but cannot figure it out yet
100%
the haven't said yet that Claire and Jack have the same father
imaaronsmom 01-31-2008, 08:57 PM POOR CHARLIE!! It was horrible to watch the first time...have my eyes closed now:frown:
Marcus Antonius 01-31-2008, 08:58 PM the actor is from Saving Private Ryan, he plays the young translator who get's taken along with Tom Hanks' company, forget his name though
RubberDucky 01-31-2008, 09:00 PM you are so right - Jeremy Davies
LostLaura 01-31-2008, 09:05 PM Nice fast forward through the last few minutes of TTLG. I enjoyed that recap. Now the new episode.
quizzical 02-01-2008, 08:26 PM I thought it was really interesting that Ben was the narrator. He is a known deceiver. I don't think we're supposed to 100% trust all the information given in the recap.
For example, every time he talked about the crash, Ben mentioned what a great "coincidence" it was that these particular people happened to crash on this particular island at this particular time. I think it was a huge hint that at least some of the people on the plane were specifically chosen to be on the island.
Chosen by who? That's the question. The choices are Fate or Conspiracy, and both are equally likely at this time.

I thought his words seemed carefully chosen at parts, and Michael Emerson seemed to be enjoying his bemused narration. Good point.
jheri 02-18-2008, 10:44 AM I like the recap shows. Even though I've watched each one at least twice, It doesn't hurt to may be catch something I didn't see before. There is so much info in each one.
