I think her name was Joann. Don't know anything about her, but Kate did burn her passport photo when she was trying to gain a spot on the raft, most likely so she could try and assume her identity

Her name was Joanna and she wasnt supposed to be on the plane. She had an ear infection and couldn't fly out when she wanted so she ended up on 815. I think she was the person who was writing the diary over on ABC.com. If so, she saw something that may have been the submarine when she was swimming. She thought it was a whale.
