View Full Version : Member of the Crew ????
Lol157 03-17-2005, 05:17 PM Hiya first ever post - Sorry if it has been mentioned before...Had a look but didn't see anything.
Just rewatching the pilot for the 4th time and noticed something that freaked me a bit.* I know its probably only a member of the crew, but its quite a bad miss by the editors.
When Charlie, Jack and Kate are running from the cockpit after the monster attacks, just to the right of the screen there is a guy just standing there in a blue jacket with his hood up. ( to the right of the screen when it cuts to them all running through the mud...just before Charlie slips. )* Why would anyone be standing there knowing they were in shot.* ???
OnAonXM 03-17-2005, 05:29 PM Welcome to the board :)
I think it was indeed mentioned, I might have my forums mixed up though.

asraigrrl 06-02-2005, 09:52 AM crew member
LostApril 06-02-2005, 04:02 PM OMG! I never noticed that! If it were someone from the crash, why would they be standing around while Kate and clan are running like bats outta h***? I have to agree that this is a crew member. The directors are going to have to be more careful next season if that is the case. I mean they have to realize that nutters like myself are seriously looking at every single detail. ;D
BUT...it very well could have been Ethan. *scratching head*
I need to find something else to do before my head explodes..lol!

kimbrchick 06-02-2005, 04:12 PM Ooh, that's creepy. That would be cool if they did that on purpose and it's supposed to be Ethan.
bucki4life2003 06-02-2005, 04:22 PM i dont see it/him...can someone give me a little more of a heads up to where/what i am looking for....please...sorry i cant see so good...LOL
creme 06-02-2005, 04:26 PM Wow. That's creepy, and I find it hard to believe that something that prominent is an accidental crew member. They would have reshot the scene.
ETA: I don't see someone to the right of the screen, I see a human like figure/shadow just to the left and behind Jack. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing.
Darnit, I don't have a tape, can't rewatch it.
The_Sheppardess 06-02-2005, 04:32 PM I could be wrong, but I think the person to left and behind Jack is Charlie. I can't see any other "hooded" guy though. ???

Its a fruity Gordons fisherman Other
Honbun26 06-02-2005, 04:38 PM Look to the upper right. *The person is standing behind some foliage. *You have to really study the pix, but then you can see the person.
creme 06-02-2005, 04:48 PM OK, I see it now. It does make more sense that the figure behind Jack is Charlie (assuming this part of the scene was before Charlie fell).
The hooded figure could be just shadows, or it could be... the Gorton's Fisherman guy :) I'll go with that hypothesis.

bucki4life2003 06-03-2005, 11:49 AM now i see......do you think they would have a crew memeber just standing there like that though?? that is weird/freaky ???
LostApril 06-03-2005, 12:31 PM I rewatched the pilot on my DVR last night and tried with all my might to see this figure. Maybe I need to set it on widescreen but I could not for the life of me see it in the scene. I see it in the screencaps so I am confused. Anyone else have this issue?

hella nit-picky -> http://www.tvtome.com/Lost/goofs.html
The pilots would not have changed course had the plane lost communications. International flight regulations and procedures specify that, in the event of lost radio communication, an airplane should change its transponder code to 7600, then follow the flight plan it had already been cleared for. It is for this exact reason that full flight plans are given and verified before the airplane takes off. By diverting course, the pilots violated several flight regulations, and, had they survived, would most likely be stripped of their licenses.

There are two topics about these hooded figures. One has a way better pic of the hooded figure. One of them talks about a hooded figure behind Sayid when he hears the whispers.
nerf herder 06-07-2005, 11:51 AM thanks, for all the info. I have terrible vision and never would of noticed this.
i would hope that this is intentional on the part of the director. in a show full of mystery and supsense, they can't just have a hooded figure and expect us not to notice....
singingpretty 06-09-2005, 02:19 AM hey...if you look at the screen shot of the hooded person standing there...it looks like the Gorton's Fisherman, don't ya think?* :-\
Maybe a foreshadowing of the guy who says 'ain't that sumptin' in the final episode* ;)
i sure enjoy this board!
